Just wanted to start by saying say my sister and I stay here every October. We have a goal of staying in every room. Our first stay was in room 902 and our most recent was the Hershey Suite. We already booked next year in the Grand View Suite. We love walking around the village when it closes and hang with the goats. I wanted to ask where do you get your pillows and mattresses? They are amazing

READ THE INN POLICIES BEFORE BOOKING. I have never seen an anti family policy like this in my life. Prior to booking a suite for 6 people to accommodate my family, I was reading that this inn charges a $15 per guest fee per day in addition to the room charge. I called and verified that this is in fact their policy. I am disappointed to know that this inn is hostile to families. The point in booking a 6 person suite is to accommodate 6 people. Yikes! In my opinion, book with a hotel that is not anti-family.

Kitchen Kettle Village is our Happy Place. The people are so friendly and welcoming amongst beatiful animals and farmland.
Staying at the Inn has been on our bucket list for years. The idea of hearing the click clop of horses and waking up in our happy place was very exciting.
The check in was easy and offered free breakfast, free waters, free cookies, a delicious jelly, and a parking spot next to our building.
On the negative side, there was no elevator and many stairs to carry luggage to our room. Extra supplies were available. A 24x7 phone number turned out not to be 24x7 as our question didnt get a call back until after we checked out the next day.
The room was average size with nice window views and a large bathroom. It was all very clean.
The beds are for back sleepers and not for people who roll, sleep on their sides, or go to the bathroom regularly. Rolling on the beds is loud enough that our family constantly woke ourselves up every time one of us rolled over. The traffic outside was also loud until around 11pm on a Friday night.
Rooms: Nice clean rooms with loud firm beds and lots of stairs with no elevator
Nearby activities: Barrys car barn, bird and Hand, Strasburg Railroad, Amish attractions
Walkability: You are in Kitchen Kettle Village in waking distance to Smucker Village, Barry's car barn, EA Candies, Immergut Pretzels, candle barn, Stofus meats, and Taylor Chip cookies.

I have been staying at the kitchen kettle for about four years. I actually discovered the kitchen kettle on a visit With my church as a stop before sight and sound. I was instantly amazed at the beauty of this gorgeous little village, and unfortunately could not find it again after years of trying to remember the location. Fast forward a few years I get married and I’m trying to find a getaway spot for my husband and I to go away for a weekend I find the kitchen kettle inn! I love everything about this place. From the beauty in each room, the fact that the staff are so kind and hospitable, the personal touches that they put. Every room has its own character and everything is always so clean and welcoming. I should’ve written a review a long time ago. This is the one Hotel that I feel the most comfortable in When I visit Lancaster with my family. We visit every year sometimes multiple times and I love staying here. I wish I would’ve taken pictures but we have stayed in the strawberry street rooms all of them and we just love it there. We have our own parking we have a little passageway into the village. At night the village is empty. The lights are on. It’s so peaceful and quiet, which is what we always look for when we get away. It’s so beautiful. I’ve even passed on the message to friends and family and I’ve had my parents stay there multiple times they love it too. This time around, I actually sprained my ankle and the young lady that cleaned our room, Jessica was actually on standby for us because we checked in on a Sunday. She was a sweetie so kind so hospitable I was so impressed. My number one thing when I look for a good hotel is cleanliness and hospitality. The moment that you are rude to me, you have lost me as a customer forever!! This young lady went above and beyond to make me feel comfortable, even getting me a wheelchair because I had such a bad sprain. Thank you so much Jessica and all the staff that works so hard to make kitchen kettle what it is God bless you in every way! See you next year! ??
Rooms: The rooms are clean and beautifully decorated.

Such a cute place. The bed was a little too soft for me and a musty smell in hallway way but everything else was fine. It was minor compared to the location and the personal touches in the room like popcorn and cookies they stocked in room and even th informational literature they provide. I would stay again. Waking up and laying in bed and hearing the horses clopping was so beautiful.

We just stayed in one of the rooms in The Kurtz House for 2 nights. I wanted to start by saying that the staff were incredibly kind and welcoming, the room was very clean and beautiful, and the village was a wonderful location to stay. The bed and pillows were very uncomfortable and we probably couldn’t have stayed for more than a couple nights. The main reason for my review is because I purposely selected the room because the website advertised that there was an elevator. Due to a disability, stairs can be difficult for me, so I only stay in accessible hotels. However, in order for the elevator to be used, the gates to the elevator have to be closed by other guests. Unfortunately, the other guests staying at the hotel were not as courteous and every time we tried to use the elevator, we were unable to. Luckily, my husband is able-bodied and was able to run up and down the stairs to collect the elevator for me, but if I did not have him I would not have been able to enter or leave the hotel very easily. I rely heavily on reviews as someone who has accessibility needs so I wanted to post this review so other travelers can make sure not to book The Kurtz House specifically if they have issues with stairs. I also hope that whoever runs the website is able to clarify that accessibility is not guaranteed.

Room service had to be requested. Not enough soap in the bathroom. Beds are not made unless upon request. The food was not up to par. I was here before, and the hotel used to be much nicer. The service was much better.
Rooms: The room was clean when we got here, but not maintained unless requested.
Nearby activities: Lots of shopping and amusements.
Safety: Very safe!
Walkability: You could walk around the village and go shopping, but you needed a car to go anywhere else.
Food and drinks: The food was not up to par. Most of the restaurants in the area are fast food.

We stayed in the village overlook (room 301) and it was so nice! We will definitely be back! The room was clean and comfortable. Having the balcony was perfect for this unseasonably warm weekend in March!

This place is truly one of our favorite hotels. We have been going to Kitchen Kettle Village for many years and discovered they had some rooms that you could stay at. We have stayed around ten times now and we keep coming back! This is a place that truly cares that you have a great and memorable time. So much better than the hotel chains out there and prices are reasonable. This most recent time, we had a snow storm and the village was closed however the staff made sure we had enough of everything. We were also invited to a lunch even though the place was closed. We met TJ at the cafe and he was incredible making us lunch and chatting with us.This place holds a special memory as I came here as a kid and now to take my children here with the outstanding service, we will be guest for life. 10 out of 10 Kitchen Kettle!

Such a nice place to relax and just get away from the business of life. When we check in we had coupons for the shops below and recommendations of things in the area. Being there at night or Sunday can be strange since everything is closed but it’s very peaceful.

This was my second time staying in one of the cottages at Kitchen Kettle and I just adore this place. The cottages are very roomy and well appointed. Our cottage had two double beds with a dresser, small dining table for two, mini fridge and microwave and big bathroom. There was also an adorable sitting porch. Our stay included complimentary breakfast from the cafe, which was amazing! And because we were there over a Sunday and the entire village is closed Sundays we also got two $10 vouchers to use. The staff was super friendly and the location can't be beat. You can walk anywhere in Intercourse and are a short drive to Lancaster, Strasburg, Bird in Hand and other towns in Lancaster County.Rooms: Very roomy and cleanNearby activities: Great shopping and food throughout Kitchen Kettle Village and the rest of Intercourse. We also did a self-guided driving tour of covered bridges throughout the town. Very close to many theaters, like Sight and Sound, and other attractions such as the Strasburg Train Museum and Dutch Wonderland.Walkability: Intercourse is very walkable. Everything was within a 10 minute walk from our cottage.Food & drinks: Every place we tried in Kitchen Kettle Village was delicious, but especially the hot pretzels and the Roasted Rooster coffee shop!

As a frequent visitor to Lancaster, Kitchen Kettle Village is a must stop. Quaint little shops and eateries are a magnet for newbies and bus tours. Frequent travelers like me, who often have a shop or two they must visit, hate the crowds, but learn to tolerate the mindless masses. The rooms at the Inn are very comfortable and there are multiple floor plans to choose from. As a frequent guest I prefer the bigger suites to the standard rooms, but they’re all nicely appointed and immaculate. The one thing I dearly miss is the lovely breakfast at the original eatery. Unfortunately, this place is no longer a hidden gem so prices have risen to match the demand.

Nice, cozy and restful place to be. Great view and very very close to the Kitchen Kettle village. Highly recommended, and will most definitely stay again.
