My boyfriend and I are both very frustrated with FCCB. When it was HVB I would have given 5 stars every time. I was with HVB for over 30 years. The staff was so friendly, saying hi every time I walked in the door even when busy, and no matter how many people were in line, I was in and out in 5 minutes or less. They always had at least 2 people working behind the counter, one for the counter and one for drive thru, they would help each other out, and others were around to step in if needed. Now that it’s FCCB, every time I have to wait an extensive period of time as there’s only one person behind the counter for both the counter and drive through, and there’s no friendly greeting. I shared how my experiences have been since the change with my boyfriend and he’s said it’s been the same for him every time - no friendly greetings and long waits. Yesterday I went in and waited 15 min for a simple deposit and left without doing it. The teller was helping the same person the whole time, it was just me waiting, and half the time they were gossiping quietly about something. There were 2 people in their offices who could see how long I was there. No one came to assist. No ‘hello,’ no ‘be right with you,’ - nothing. The family feel that I loved about HVB is gone, and knowing it will be a quick stop, I now can’t count on. It’s very frustrating, disappointing and sad.

We love HVB! Great for families and businesses. As the manager of Blue Hair Studio, I have been working with this bank for almost two years. Their customer service is great and they provide everything we need. The employees are truly what makes this bank a 5 star business! Thanks for all you do.

Whoever is the underwriter for this bank needs to be fired or better educated. Do not do business with this bank. I withdrew all my money. They are scammers.

To all it may concern, HVB is a terrible bank to obtain a mortgage with as they are terrible in keeping track of any of your records. I obtained my mortgage with them in June 2021 and subsequently they never paid my real estate taxes or school taxes which were escrowed every month. I got notice from the tax collector that the taxes were going to county for collections. They never paid my homeowners insurance which was also escrowed and it went to cancellation. My mortgage was sold to PNC in July 2022 and HVB sent me a letter that no more payments would be accepted after July 30 yet they auto drafted a payment on August 5.What are the mortgage office personnel doing?? Obviously not there job!!!!

Diane and Danielle were amazing, they went above and beyond to help me. Use a bank like HVB and you’ll feel like your dealing with a bank that actually cares!

I have been using this bank my entire life. Something has changed in the last year, and the small bank charm is wearing thin. First they put a extended hold on a larger check (after I declined to sign the paperwork giving them permission to do so) because our business account had a negative balance within the last three months (the check wasn’t even that large, $8000 - not abnormal for our biz account, also not abnormal for or biz account to occasionally dip in the negative if enough people don’t pay promptly - it’s become more and more infrequent but when you start a biz with zero $ it happens). The implication here is that I’m committing check fraud - no other way to see it. Then they started making me specify after at least three years of my weekly checks to myself (from biz checking to regular checking, the way I pay ourselves because you can’t transfer from biz to regular checking) that I want the payment avail. for immediate draw. Instead of clearing it automatically as they do with every other in-house check, you need to ask them to do so. Again the implication is attempted check fraud, after years of no hiccups I’m suddenly trying to steal from them. Today I had to call to unfreeze my debit card (after it was declined at two stores even though there was money in the account). Turns out a debit was attempted for my daughter’s soccer club unbeknownst to me, and even though I transferred money into the account afterwards (without knowing about the declined debit) my card was frozen because my debit card isn’t enrolled in overdraft protection. So they freeze the account? How about just decline the payment? They said it was for security reasons, which makes no-sense. There is no heightened security trigger for a small declined payment (one that’s is RECURRING with my checking account). It’s about shaming people. It’s about getting embarrassed at stores, embarrassed on the phone when you have to unfreeze your card. I looked up my overdraft fees with regular checking over the last two years - over $1100! That’s what this is about! They could just decline the payment, but no. They pretend it’s a security issue to embarrass you so you sign up for overdraft protection (apparently I signed up for checking overdraft protection but not debit card protection when I opened this account some 15 years ago). I have actually never had more money in my adult life than I do now. Not rich my any means, but can finally afford to live. I am acutely aware and sensitive to how financial institutions treat people regarding there worth - it’s just funny to me that NOW of all times (when I’m not poor anymore) is when my bank starts accusing me of theft (yes, that’s what all of their extended holds and asking permission to clear my own money ultimately are) and trying to milk me for me more overdraft charges or risk humiliation of getting declined in stores from frozen accounts because of a silly forgotten, recurring soccer payment. Some of their tellers are super nice though.
