“Short version: Sometimes the basic goodness of people surprises you.Long version: On a Wednesday, I needed an RV inspected for a potential sale, buyer coming Saturday. Made an appointment (on Wednesday morning) with my regular mechanic (of 20 years) . I called him on Thursday afternoon to confirm and found out he had booked someone else for Friday and couldn't help me. So much for 20 years.Started calling around for alternatives. Contacted John late on Thursday afternoon. He wasn't thrilled about the idea (it's December and the RV would have to be outdoors for the inspection) but he told me to call him after 1 pm on Friday. I did, got his answering service. No reply so I figured he's out of the picture and this inspection wasn't going to happen in time. Around 3 pm Friday, John shows up unannounced at my house, introduces himself to my wife, and starts looking over the RV parked in my driveway. After some discussion, I took it down to his shop around 4 pm figuring to pick it up Saturday morning. Around 7 pm Friday, my doorbell rings, John is standing there and the RV is back with an inspection sticker and he said the bill was on the passenger seat. Bottom line is John went way out of his way for someone he didn't know. I'm not sure how to express the value of that, but I know what it's worth to me.”

“I recently took my car into Rick's for an oil change and inspection. Rick found a hole in the flex pipe for the exhaust which caused it to fail inspection. He also found out the flex pipe is a permanent fixture to the catalytic converter so he had to replace the entire thing. He ordered the part and once it came in he had my car fixed up and inspected in a matter of a few hours. The price was reasonable and my car runs like new again!”
