WARNING! Un-Educated Movers! (Philadelphia) WARNING! DO NOT HIRE! Moving is aggregating enough. Save yourself some time and call another mover. This guy, Joel, promised a box truck, but the day of the move it was "broke down." when I suggested for him to rent a u haul, he couldn't bother. I was promised three movers, got 2. a nic on the wall at the old house and a huge hole in the wall at the new house. at the end of the day, he still expected full payment, but eventually knocked $66 off of the estimate. Ended up having to hire different movers the following day to finish the job. Furthermore, he operates under a name that he no longer owns. Save your hard-earned money, time, and stress! Not at all professional

Educated Moving was highly recommended to me by a friend who had used them multiple times. She had such positive experiences I didn't think twice about booking them for my move. So why one star? I booked my move with Joel for a weekday morning. I told him I was flexible with the start time, just as long as the move was completed before 5pm. He booked me for 10am. The night before he called asking if he could push it back just one hour, since his guys were finishing up a big move. I told him this was fine and he thanked me for being so flexible. Little did I know the "big move" from the day before would continue for the entire following day. Sure enough no one showed to move me at 11. I didn't even receive a call. I gave them the benefit of the doubt and waited 30 minutes before calling. Joel was surprised his movers hadn't contacted me and said they would be in touch, which I knew was a bad sign. One hour AFTER my move was scheduled to begin, the mover called to inform me that they still had about another 2 -3 hours worth of work at their last job, which was located almost an hour away. My one request to be moved in before 5pm sure wasn't going to be fulfilled at that point, so I told them to forget about it and I furiously began looking for another mover. There was a total lack of communication between the owner and his staff, and they didn't even attempt to come up with a solution. If you do choose to use this company, I highly recommend getting the name and contact information of your assigned movers in advance.

I had a relatively small move, from a one bedroom apt to a larger two bedroom, about 20 miles away, both in montgomery county. At 5'4" and 120 pds I'm not hauling anything much heavier than a footstool. Booking was painless, and pleasant; i spoke to Joel, who immediately forwarded the required insurance forms and whatnot via email. I received a quote immediately and was able to book my preferred appointment time and date with no issues. The rate was awesome, btw. I opted out of insurance, because my stuff is either indestructible, or IKEA. Two days prior to the move, a friendly woman called from 'Your Moving Company'-a red flag for me, but i asked her to clarify what company, and after a short pause, i clarified for her that i had hired Educated Moving, and asked if she was calling from that agency. She seemed familiar with them, and went on to ask particulars about the move. All in all, she was pleasant as well, and confirmed my requested date and time, informing me that that time might change now that the date was approaching. Another flag - so i informed her that i had already spoken to Joel, who confirmed that 9am, on the particular date, was good to go. One day prior, i recieved my confirmation for a 9am start; I only include all this to highlight that in no way did i receive anything short of excellent customer service. BUT, at just before 9am, a blank white truck pulled up and two guys hopped out. I want to again point out that the guys that DID come were friendly and did what was required, with no broken items. The move took forever, but i didn't have to do it, so it was worth it. Whatever was dismantled was reassembled, and with any item that wasn't going in the truck, they offered to pack the car for me. But when it came time to pay, the invoice was from A TOTALLY DIFFERENT COMPANY. It explained why i received a blank stare when i asked where they taught... My biggest issue is that i researched Educated Moving, chose Educated Moving, and entered into contract with Educated Moving - and they simply pushed my job off to god knows who. I lucked out and got two decent guys - but they were strangers that i didn't hire. If you didn't want my job, why didn't you say so - or at least warn me????

Beware!!! We used this company for a move this summer. The owner estimated our move and required payment before the move which I had no problem with.... Unfortunately, his estimate was too high and he needed to refund money to us after the move. We have tried unsuccessfully to get our money refunded for 6 months. He even was so unprofessional as to send us an unsigned check. It is just one excuse after another.....

These guys helped me move into my apartment exactly one year ago but I just thought to look them up on Yelp now. I was moving from Quakertown to Philadelphia, and I definitely did my research, calling every possible moving company I could find to get quotes. Educated moving was by far the best deal and they were extremely nice and courteous on top of it. We agreed on an estimate and they told me that people usually settle in cash if you go over at the end. They showed up right on time and got to work. There was a slight problem when they forgot a special box for my tv but they macgyvered their own with a blanket, some cardboard and duct tape AND they subtracted some time at the end for the confusion. Everything was loaded carefully into their truck and we departed for Philly. There was a little bit of traffic that was unexpected but ultimately not bad for 76. When we got to the apartment, they got right to work again carrying everything up my skinny hallway with two flights of stairs. I am still amazed at how they got my oversized sofa chair and giant china cabinets through that door! I helped carry some stuff inside to move things along (you are charged by the hour) and they didn't mind at all. Nothing was damaged, and we only ended up going slightly over the quoted time (due to some traffic and their valiant efforts to get that oversized sofa chair through the door at my request). I would use them again in a heartbeat!

These guys were great. I saw their listing on craigslist, then the one review on yelp and decided to call them. quotes were reasonable and the service was very professional. Overall they did a nice job with our move - no damages. I'd use them again if I need moving help.
