Amazing experience!This is a nice museum to learn more about the civil war. They did a great job by describing the events from the beginning. Most importantly they described the history of both Confederate forces and union forces and how each event unfolded. Take your kids for a good history lesson. T

This is a privately funded museum. I feel because of that there is not the volume and scope of artifacts on display.Of the items on display, the seeming vast majority fall in the firearms category. The main themes of the multi floor displays focus on how you would feel in those times, or how did the people living through those events feel, at the time.

Good people run this place. Good manners and helpful. My wife needed a wheelchair and they jumped right to it to help.The exhibits and story lines at different stations were great.The slave runners and chiefs who sold their people as slaves need to be called out by name. More accountability for those evil people.

Very well organized and full of great information. Everything was presented in a personal way so you could feel the human side of the conflict. So many more relics than I thought were available to see made it interesting as well as the variety of presentations...video, diagrams, images, relics, etc.It's a must visit.

This place was great and I appreciated the ability to browse at our own pace. The layout was good and the displays were informative. It does a good job of being informative and it felt very sombre whilst I was there (which is what I would expect as far as coming out feeling reflective and sombre, as opposed to coming out thinking that was 'cool').When we visited it wasn't crowded, so we got the chance to soak it all in, and it's well priced.What we didn't realize is it's situated in a really nice park area, so you can plan to have a picnic or enjoy the park before or after.

Nice museum to visit. Well kept, clean, safe area, lots of info displayed and not packed together. Lots of room to look around and not be crowded. Well done!

An amazing, educational, and entertaining museum with courteous and intelligent staff. The displays are great and captivate you throughout your entire time in the museum. Clean and well kept with constantly new things being added.Worth a trip for anyone interested in the civil war.

I'm glad I went as I believe there's always something to learn. I enjoyed the progression style theme of the museum. It had some interesting original pieces, but definitely could have provided more in my opinion. Again, I am glad that I went and would still recommend people to visit here, I just would not be interested in a second visit.

Was here for a work function. Took a tour through the museum and was quite impressed! Definitely worth a visit if you like learning and seeing history.

A truly great museum. From start to finish. The grounds are fantastic, and I enjoyed seeing the state bricks as you walk up with the numbers on them. The massive flag adds the perfect touch.

This museum is beautifully done. The way they have realistic mannequins set in the scenes really adds another layer to the experience. I was in tears after leaving the beginning exhibit detailing the slavery practices. I highly recommend this to anyone wanting to learn more about this dark and pivotal time in our country's history.
