Fort Hunter is a splendid place to learn some local history all while enjoying a walk and the sights that the Susquehanna River has to offer. There was plenty of parking when we arrived. We first explored the mansion which houses the gift shop. It's absolutely charming! There is a self-guided walking tour which takes you to the tavern house, the Everhart covered bridge, and the old Pennsylvania canal. Very enjoyable and a must see if you have an hour or so to spend.Playground: There is a playground with swings.Dog-friendliness: Dogs are welcome as long as they are leashed.

The tour was great. I wish I knew our tour guide’s name to compliment her. She was extremely knowledgeable and answered all our questions. The home is well maintained and breaming with artifacts. Anyone who lives in the Harrisburg area should make time to tour this treasure.

Went for a wine and jazz festival. The rain didn't stop us from having a great time. Great entertainment!! Plenty of parking and the grounds were very clean. Kudos to the people responsible for parking and the ease of keeping great crowd control.
