I have been banking at Univest for over 5 years. I can't recall ever writing another negative review.I came in to deposit $5000 from one of my businesses on a Saturday. The teller informed me they couldn't take my deposit because my account needed to be updated with paperwork to reflect the dba, despite my having made deposits at the bank for this business for over 18 months. Aggravating, but I went to my car and got my laptop and sent the document over. The "paperwork" took 45 minutes to complete. Just so the bank could take the deposit I was making. While I waited for form after form to be filled out and printed, I saw the bank's mission statement sitting on a window sill. Customer service is not mentioned anywhere -- only returning a profit to itself and its stakeholders.I apologized for my frustration with this whole thing, and I have empathy for the necessity of turning the gears of regulatory bureaucracy. When I apologized to the manager on duty she said 'I'm sorry you feel that way.'I'm sure the folks who work here are nice people outside of the bank. But the way this bank is run clearly reflects its priority on making money and making paperwork (even 18 months after the fact). Consider their mission statement before bringing money here, or don't be surprised by the experience you have.

They are closing branches left and right. Does not inspire much confidence. Switched to a true local bank.

This bank is awful. My husband has been a loyal customer for over 20 years yet they have taken away every perk he ever had. He used to get free checks (was told it was grandfathered on his account) last time he ordered checks, was charged over $50. When I questioned it an extremely rude woman basically just told me tough sh--! All interest has been taken from both checking and savings accounts. So instead of interest we get penalties (fees) if we don't have enough activity on savings. So we're punished if we don't put money in even if we don't have extra money. OR we are punished for not taking out money we really want to save. (The purpose of a "savings account"!) Makes no sense!

We been with Univest for over 15 years however we recently moved and this is the closest branch. My family including myself has experience horrible service all around. It's time to move to Td bank down the road where they have great service and cash on hand so you can withdraw from your account. Here if you want a large sum they will question you and won't provide you the money. I was looking to transfer my other accounts to this bank instead I will close them and take them else where since they no longer value customers.

My experience with univest has been the worst bank ive had to deal with. You cant tranfer money after a certain cutoff time and over weekends. So dont run out of money in your checking account over the weekend or your s*** out of luck unless you can find an atm, and before you ask, No you cannot transfer money from the atm.
