The store was absolutely awful and the only reason for a 2 star review is because of the polite counter worker.

I went to Hanover PA Lowe's yesterday August 25th with my wife to get some paint. There was a line of people at the paint counter but a customer ahead of us told us there were two associates working and we were actually next in line because the people ahead of us were waiting for their paint. The female employee gave paint to a customer and then walked back to the paint can section and appeared to be 'looking for something' for three minutes or so and then told the male employee that it was time for her break and walked toward the back of the store. The male employee finally finished up with a customer who got five or six quarts of various paints and then walked over to look toward the rear of the store. He then walked over to the store's exit, hesitated in the foyer area between the doors, and then walked out to a car, got in and drove off. It must have been his break time as well. There were still five or six customers standing in line at the time and all were completely ignored and never acknowledged. My wife walked over to 'customer service' and told them what had happened and after relaying what had transpired, the disinterested response was "Ahhh, would you like to talk to a manager?" My wife told her that we will just go up the road to Home Depot and we left. We got in the paint line at 4:05 PM and the guy walked out around 4:30 PM. I spend thousands of dollars at Lowe's each year and it just ended.

My husband and I planned to purchase a storm door from Lowes. We did the paperwork on July 3, 2018 and were told that someone would be out on the 5th or 6th to measure for an estimate. The subcontractor came out to do the measuring for the estimate on the 9th(today) and he informed me that the work involved to install our storm door would be to time consuming for him and he was going to pass it along to someone else. I was speechless and puzzled. I looked at the paperwork from Lowe's and I did not see anywhere that it stated that the subcontractor could "pass" on a job that he felt was not to his liking. Of course, I would understand if a subcontractor did not feel comfortable doing a job that he could not do well but this WAS NOT THE CASE. I called Lowe's and explained the situation and was informed that the contractor had brought in the paperwork and asked for it to be reassigned because it would take more than an hour and that they would have someone out in a few days to do another measurement for the estimate. I was shocked! When I asked the Assistant Manager, Justin, if the next subcontractor could feel that the job would be time consuming and pawn it off on someone else would they assign another, he just told me it was his best guy. The art of the non-answer. WOW! I spoke with the Lowe's corporate office and I told them that they need to have some type of disclosure informing customers that subcontractors can decide not to do the work based on certain criteria. In the end, Lowe's like many large companies continue to count their millions and really don't care about the customer service fails associated with a few customers. I asked for and will be getting my $35 for the estimate back. I will go elsewhere to get a storm door. It's the principle behind the situation.

All happening before 8 A.M. I Work for a small business and we needed mulch for our garden outside. I work as a vendor at the Lowe's and was conversating with a Lowe's employee about what we were doing at our boutique. I planned on purchasing 250 bags of mulch. Well they lost their sale. A man named Mike (A manager in the lawn and garden on the inside of the store) Came over as I was talking and asked me why i was talking to a Lowes employee. I told him that I was having a conversation? Confused on who this man was. He then asked me if i worked there. I said yes. He said are you on the clock? I said no. Not that I needed to explain myself, nor do i work for Lowe's itself. He then told me that it was against their policy for me to talk to a Lowe's employee. So I looked at him very confused and angry at this point. I walked away, and as I'm walking away he says "I'm just letting you know how it is." A very power hungry man, who has no respect for others.

I find it amazing that so many local businesses can come to your house to fix something and in the process do the job differently than agreed on, then damage something in the process and not tell you. After a job that was over 4 grand, the wooden stripes did not match, which was bad enough, but then there is the scratched Larson storm door window that was not mentioned. Now I understand why Lowes never ask us if we liked the job. This is yet another job we have had done in Hanover and had something damaged and never had it mentioned. If you are elderly or disabled in Hanover, chances are, you'll be paying more than the job is worth.

I went in to Lowe's early this week for more cardboard boxes (moving). I needed regular weight small. I couldn't find any in the two places they have them out. So, being close to paint, I asked the woman there if she could contact someone for me to check for more. She didn't, she walked down the aisle, scanned the code and saw that there were some in the store. Dee then proceeded to walk around the aisles looking at the top shelf for them. I looked also. She found them above the door aisle. Dee then found someone to get them down for me. It is rare to find that kind of service anywhere! Thank you Dee! P.S. I'm not the other Dave E. that reviewed this store.

I purchased a dryer. It was delivered the next day. However, there was a problem with the dryer vent. I called the store manager regarding the problem. The manager was courteous and the problem was resolved rapidly. I highly recommend Lowe's.
