Wonderful exhibition of art of the history of Pittsburgh! If you are an art lover, this is ideal. There are so many fascinating exhibitions, large space, not busy and best of all FREE ENTRY & FREE PARKING!! I especially loved the large light painting inside a light frame that has interesting contours and designs. There are a few painting and drawing tables so u can try your hand at drawing or painting. Staff are lovely and always on hand to assist you. I totally enjoyed myself, made two friends, and had a lovely time. Must visit if you're in the Westmorland area.

It's a museum dedicated to American Art. We went there specifically to view the Frank Lloyd Wright exhibit but ended up touring the entire museum. The staff is very friendly and knowledgeable. I highly recommend visiting it if you're ever in the Greensburg area.

This visit was a highlight of my trip. The whole experience of the visit was fun for the whole family. My son learned about some art, art styles, history, and a bit about architecture. I loved the mix of art from various time periods juxtaposed covering similar subjects.

Raves!!! More Museum than you would ever expect in a small town. And if they can do it, It makes you wonder why every small hamlet cant find funds for a world class museum like this one. A feast for the eyes from top to bottom! This visit, a fantasical view of downtown pittsburgh in the future through the eyes of the iconic Frank Lloyd Wright brought to life by Skyline Ink Animators + Illustrators. Plus enjoy seeing stunnig paintings and sculptures by names you may well know. Pittsburgh’s Thadeus Mosely for example. In art…Westmoreland Museum has southwestern PA covered! See more of my travel teels and art on IG. Christine clay studio and stuff

This place is a gem if you're an art lover. I took my girl scout troop on a tour, and we learned so much. Our docent, Nancy was lovely. She was engaging and great with the kids! I could have spent all day there. Great permanent collection, and the current Frank Lloyd Wright installation is very interesting.

We've been in the area since 2012 and this is our first visit. We were the only people present which made it even more enjoyable as we didn't have to worry about being in anyone's way & we could enjoy our favorites. Sadly the cantilever isn't open for our visit as it is being prepped for a new installation. It was enjoyable with a variety of types of art. I can't wait to return once the new installation is in.

It's a great little museum that hosts events and some art workshops and things for kids and adults. We went for a Native American drum and dance event but I think we all enjoyed the art even more. There's parking at the building and also across the street for overflow. We didn't try the cafe but the museum store has local artists wares.

I believe this museum has to be one of the best small museums I have ever visited. I love the "Pittsburgh/Industrial scene" room the most. They frequently change temporary exhibits (not always a fan of these), but that keeps things fresh and opens up new works one wouldn't normally be exposed to. I visit 3 or 4 times a year and am never disappointed. They do a good job of rotating their permanent collection in addition to the addition of the temporary exhibits.

Fantastic museum, a true hidden gem. From gallery to gallery, you’ll find an impressive permanent collection thoughtfully paired with forward thinking local artists presented with an attention to detail and quality seen in much larger national museums. The kind and helpful staff made the visit truly memorable. Awesome experience. Thank you!!

The Westmoreland Museum of Art is an awesome museum. I visited here with my other half last week. We drove from Baltimore to Pittsburgh for the weekend and I had to come up with a few stops on the way. This was the perfect afternoon stop to get out and stretch our legs and see something local and different. I had visited this museum years and years ago in the 1980s and 1990s. It is a small museum with a great collection. And the admission is free and the parking is free. I love it.They have great permanent collections of paintings, sculpture and decorative arts. The museum is small and the collections are small. I would plan about 1 to 2 hours to visit tops. Free admission. Free parking. Very clean. Clean bathrooms. There are very friendly and talkative staff in the galleries. They had two temporary exhibits going on and honestly I didn't care for either one of them, that is my only critique. The was a temporary exhibit of outsider art that I didn't really care for that took up an entire gallery space. There was also a temporary photography exhibit that I didn't care for either. And I typically love outsider art and photography. The museum is definitely worth a visit though. Focus on the permanent collections. The museum also has a very nicely curated gift shop to pick up a souvenir of your visit.

This is one of the very best regional and FREE art museums in the USA. Even the always well done special exhibits are free. The only drawback is its strange hours when it is completely closed on both Monday and Tuesday ; otherwise it's open from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. the other 5 days.I cannot recommend this fine museum highly enough. Great modern facilities ,too. Paintings, sculpture, antique furniture, etc. are all part of this amazing museum's featured collection. There is even a gift shop that also sells food.Grade : A. ( 4 to 5 stars, overall).
