Comfortable and affordable hotel for the families that are its main clientele. Excellent breakfast choices and amenities for young travelers. Friendly staff. Perfect location.

This is a perfectly fine place. If you're going with kids, great! It's got all the amenities for you. If you don't have kids watch it. It's overrun. Kids everywhere. Kids waking us up by jumping around on the floor above us. Kids soaking the floor of the elevator with their dripping bathing suits. Kids throwing things at you when you're checking in. Kids kids kids kids kids kids kids kids kids kids kids kids

If I could do less than 1 star, I would.
Disgusting!! Reserved 3 rooms and all three rooms were terrible!! They all smelled like weed and urine. When I went to complain about the smell, I was given a Febreeze and asked if I was on the third floor....#1, I just checked in 30 seconds ago and #2, what difference does it make what floor....is there something special about the third floor? Are they allowed to smoke weed up there? That's ridiculous! One of the rooms, the bathroom flooded all over (yes the shower curtain was pulled inside the tub) and housekeeping was supposed to come by during the day to take care of the towels used to dry it up but they never did. In the next room....the same thing happened to the bathroom floors but not as bad, and there was no shampoo or conditioner in the dispensers...do they not top them off each time they clean the room? They should be. Bathtubs in all rooms were filthy with mold at the base. One of the rooms smelled the worst out of all three rooms and continued to smell no matter how much it was Febreezed. Another one of the rooms, the key card stopped working so many times for no reason at all (no, it was not next to a cellphone) and the couch bed in this same room was totally unsleepable as the head part would not stay up at all so we had to sleep on it upside down. Several of the sheets had disgusting stains on them and the pillows were smaller than a couch throw pillow. Beds were too soft and completely uncomfortable. Certain other areas of the hotel smelled like weed terribly too and when you walk into the hotel there was a musty and moldy smell. Too much chlorine used in the pool. Smoking area on the back porch of the swimming pool area was not a necessary smoking area….people kept leaving the door propped open and smoke coming into the pool room. Kept asking to close the door and more people would come and prop it open. Smoking there was not just cigarettes but weed too. Could smell it terribly. This should never be allowed. No towels in the pool area….notified the front desk and they brought 2 more towels….not a bunch, just 2. There was a pool full of kids and no one had towels. Kept asking to speak to the manager and was told he'd be in the next morning. Next morning....oh he'll be here this afternoon. Then the next morning, then the afternoon (‘oh definitely the afternoon this time’ they said)...but I was checking out by then. Left my contact information for them to call me that afternoon....nothing. This place was horrible and absolutely disgusting! Very outdated! Will never stay there again and do not recommend to anyone, especially anyone with children!!!

Very affordable, hot breakfast that staff maintains very well, good selection of breakfast items, rooms were clean and well maintained, front desk staff very friendly and helpful, my kids loved the arcade, 15 minutes away from Hershey Park.
Rooms: Suites with Kitchenettes, clean and well maintained. Front desk replenished with clean towels and garbage bags as needed, as house keeping is not included. Which works great for our family.
Nearby activities: Hershey Park
Food & drinks: Great Italian restaurant- Fabio’s across the street. Also a convenience store-Sheetz across the street that makes fresh food (didn’t try).

A little bit of a mixed bag here…
The bad:
There is no water slide at this pool. I definitely was swayed to book here vs other places for the slide, so this was a big disappointment to my family.
Putt putt schedule on the bulletin board and clubs can be seen in the office, but it was never set up. It’s stacked behind the hotel with the pieces of the water slide.
I can tell they are slowly but surely doing updates, but a few things really need replacing or cleaning sooner vs later - the toilets have huge deep unappealing stains. Some kind of CRV cleaner or something could go a long way.
The tub is EXTREMELY slippery. They are old and the coating is clearly worn. I was very concerned about someone slipping in the shower.
The pull out couch bed is absolutely terrible. Even a 7 year old couldn’t sleep on it, and instead slept on it as a stiff couch.
The good
Service is amazing! Always someone around if you have a question and they always have a smile.
Hot breakfast is nice, though gets a little boring always having the same every day. Eggs, sausage, automatic pancake machine (the kids loved watching this!), yogurt and cereal.
The rooms were clean. Extra’s of anything needed provided at the front desk.
Location is amazing! - 15-20 min from Hershey and Indian Echo Cavern. 1 hour from Gettysburg.
Sheets gas station across the street - they also have good quick food available, cooked fresh.
Fabio’s was a lovely restaurant across the parking lot. I recommend both places!
Would I book here again - probably, but would appreciate up front advertising or a slightly cheaper price to be more on par with similar offerings if you don’t have the amenities available.

Great workers. Staying tonight, my son, 2 wouldn't crawl under the bed to retrieve a plastic ball. Come to find out the metal frame was broken, and the wood frame havs broken off the bed multiple nails sticking out. Thankfully my done didn't crawl underneath I wish I would have noticed sooner.

Well early this morning I was awoken from an extremely deep sleep by a housekeeping lady trying to get into my room. After which i was unable fall back asleep. I had secured the security latch and put the do not disturb sign onto the door lever so no one would wake me up in the morning. I called down to the front desk and informed the receptionist about what happened. I asked for a discount because of this extremely large inconvenience. She told me the general manager Luka Kovich would contact me at 3pm when his shift started. I waited until 4:30pm and contacted Luka myself. He was not very polite during our conversation I found him condescending and extremely argumentative. Eventually he offered me a 20 dollar discount. I told him that wasn't good enough. After some more animated back and forth I simply said I'm not trying to argue about this I told him thank you and I ended the call. Also the bathroom sink was not draining when I initially arrived (which I fixed myself) and the plumbing fixtures in the shower and jacuzzi tub are extremely loose. The shower basin had a dirt grey hue as well; like it was not cleaned properly.

Very unprofessional staff. I booked a room for 3 days at about $500 and I got interrupted in the pool with my kids with them pretty much saying we need to get out and they need to go search my room for someones bracelet that was supposedly left in my room right in front of everyone making me look liable for something that has nothing to do with me. I’m also pregnant and had to get my kids out the pool which they were upset by obviously were there to have fun and I had to get them dressed and clean my room since they’re saying they need to come in which would be a totally invasion of privacy. Just for the bracelet to magically appear from one of their workers! So my stay gets interrupted for nothing and when I try and express my frustration to the manager he just acts like there was no wrong I didn’t even get an apology he was just trying to justify the situation and argue like I’m not a paying guest as well and another house keeper guy tried to chime in as well pretty much tryna cover his own butt since he magically found it saying oh well if you were fighting in your room wouldn’t you want us to come in then like first of all nothing to do with the situation and I’m talking to the manager not them and I shouldn’t be teamed up on by 2 grown men either completely unjustifying my frustration and arguing why I shouldn't be upset bringing up a situation that’s totally different circumstances even though I’m a paying guest as well getting my time interrupted when they should have searched for it and talked to their workers before involving me at all and disrupting my time! No accountability or anything which is what was even more upsetting. Not only that but the hot tub was filthy when I arrived and I didn’t even make a big deal of it I just asked them for cleaning supplies and I cleaned it myself!! The carpet was all torn up around the hot tub as well. There were marking on the walls, the pull out bed had strings coming out the mattress, the toilet looked disgusting and I didn’t even complain about any of it I was so understanding and nice before the whole situation just to be treated so poorly. All around just a bad experience and a waste of my money with no compensation remorse or anything.

I honestly expected more from this hotel, but I was disappointed. The hotel feels very cheap, the usual synthetic (microfiber) linens, which make you sweat at night. The towels are very thin, the pillows are so small, it’s hard to imagine where they got these pillows. It seems that they took a normal pillow and split the inside synthetic fill to make two pillows. They are very small and uncomfortable. The pool is also very small. Breakfast practically non-existent. I’ve seen usual continental breakfasts that had more variety than here. They didn’t even have bread !! They provided some sort of sandwiches to go, which I only unwrapped and threw away immediately. What kind of a hotel doesn’t have sliced breads for breakfast to make a toast ?!
Needless to say, we drove to a restaurant to eat breakfast. We paid $270 for a 2 day stay on a weekend, which I consider as a rip off. I’d rather pay a little more, but to spend a night in better conditions with a normal breakfast.

We specifically reserved this hotel for the pool and game room. We called 2 days before our stay and was told that yes the pool would be open. We get there and it wasn't. I get that they are doing construction but don't lie to customers. We get there and are told March 2nd. That date is a far cry from February 17th. They didn't want to work with any kind of discount for our situation. $15 dollars off. Big deal. Don't bother with this hotel. It was dirty and I was only in the lobby area . Go to the Country Inn & Suites Harrisburg/Hershey which is 5 minutes from this place. That hotel has an indoor pool and entire hotel is newly renovated. And staff is so much nicer and friendly then this hotel!

We can’t say enough about this place. We stayed here for 10 days and our helper stayed for a weekend as well. And the front desk attendant Chris was absolutely amazing. Made us feel welcome and was very respectful, helpful and smiled and welcomed us and treated us like family. We look forward to coming back next year

I've been to this hotel many times. This year was the worst. Pool was down, no miniature golf, kitchen was dirty, bathroom door knob broke, and worst of all bedbugs eating us alive. My family and I covered head to toe in bites (rm 219) the manager wouldn't even acknowledge the issue. I did leave a bug on a Ziploc bag at the desk as proof and still denied the issue. Big problem when the staff said it's not the first complaint!
Rooms: Not clean
Safety: Health and safety issues

Today has possibly started as the worse day of my families lives. We were scammed out of money for a place to move into and had no where to go. I hopped on google and found mainstay. From the second I heard Chris’s warm friendly voice, my anxiety was starting to ease. This was only magnified once we arrived. I can confidently say that any time this hotel is an option, we will be staying here thanks to people like Chris.
He was friendly, personable, recommended other services like the credit card and loyalty card that I didn’t even know existed. Needless to say my family of 4 have a place that was super affordable and is nice for the next week thanks to Chris!

The bad: I would absolutely give this a 5 star rating, but for the fact, the room was a little dated. I can live with that, but the ring in the toilet (room 216) was a little off-putting.
The trivial: The indoor pool is not heated.
THE GOOD: The hotel was otherwise CLEAN. I regret that I didn't get the name of the man at the front desk, but he was fabulous, extremely courteous, and helpful. The pool area was great, with a huge slide. The breakfast area was exceptionally clean. The game room with a basketball court was the cherry on top. I would recommend this location 100x over and will definitely stay there again if in the area.
