“We love Dogventure (Cool Dog Gear)! I used to only wander in once in a blue moon, but while dining out with a new puppy, I received some news about "Puppy Social" sessions that could be a good fit for my not-very-socialized and rather vocal Pomeranian. I kid you not, we now frequent Dogventure on a weekly basis (or as often as possible) - and not just for the use of the doggie gym although that's the best part.This is a fantastic small business with a variety of toys, treats, food options, and healthcare (joint, skin, dental, etc). The owners are wonderful and the staff they employ are equally caring and knowledgeable. There are not words to express how happy and grateful I am to have discovered (and have access to) this wonderful business and all they have to offer.”

“If you have a dog, you need to get yourself here! I am so in love with this sweet shop and will be stopping by every time I am in Manayunk, which is usually with my pooch since it's on our way back from hikes at the Wissahickon. This bakery has a play area which I didn't even realize until I went to write this review, and they also have the cutest cookies, treats, accessories, and goodies for your dog. The staff here was the absolute sweetest and the vibes are just very good. My dog was so happy to be there and thoroughly enjoyed her St. Paddy's Day "lucky" cookie later that day. They were having a dog party later in the day, replete with doggie beer (LOL) treats, and playtime. I am so happy to know this business exists and will absolutely be getting my dog's birthday cakes and treats from here moving forward. An excellent addition to the already very dog-friendly Manayunk. Feel free to replicate my new dream Saturday: long hike at the Wiss, brunch on a patio, and a stop by this awesome shop. Tell your dog I say hi!”

Also enjoy the pics of some of the past adoptable rescue cats in the window!)Where do I begin? This place is awesome. From the awesome owner and her store kitty Boo, to the adoptable rescue cats in the window, to the loyalty program with many brands that save you so much money, it's just the best. Dogs always get a complimentary treat at the register when they come in. The treats available are so diverse and it's great to try something new with my pets every couple weeks. The staff is very helpful and kind, and it is overall just a priceless staple of the neighborhood. I highly recommend stopping by, even if you don't have a pet! Because they have rescue cats in the window that you can pet and bond with (thanks to Greenstreet Rescue) and lots of great stock to get a gift for a pet owner in your life. Definitely check them out, I love this place.”
“Hometown pet store with plenty of pet goodies. From foods to baths to beds and carriers. I stopped by just to see the variety. They do have small pet foods for Chinchilla's, hamsters and guinea pigs, as well as a variety of fish for your aquarium and aquarium decorations. Friendly staff as well.”
“Came in today seeking much needed help because my one cat stopped using the litterbox due to stress from my recent move. 2 wonderful individuals helped me locate several products to encourage my stubborn feline to start using the litter box again. Immediately after getting home and setting everything up the mission was extremely successful! The team members in this facility are extremely educated and helpful and I am very thankful and grateful for the information they shared with me! My cat is back to using the litter box and seems much more calm and comfortable! I absolutely love this pet store and the workers and they’ve definitely made me a life long customer!!!”
“I love coming to City of Paws Pet Care for the self- wash. The staff are very kind and helpful throughout the session. I love how you pay based on the time you spent in the baths. This is helpful for me because I will overestimate how much time it will take to wash my large dog in the event she is not as cooperative as I would hope.”

All the animals there were all very well taken care of cages/ tanks/ terrariums all clean ,fresh water n food... definitely would recommend this place to anyone... OHHH also they had the biggest monitors n fresh water flowerhorn cichlids i think I've ever seen!!! Keep up the great work guys!!”

“I have been going here for a while to get my dogs nails trimmed and had a slight mishap earlier today with scheduling but I truly appreciate the customer service I received when the manager called me to correct the scheduling issue that happened. I will be returning with my two fur babies as a happy customer because they did what they needed to do to fix the situation!”

“We always take our doodle here- We love being able to see all the dogs being groomed/the open concept here! Makes us feel so safe leaving our pup there. She always comes home so happy! It’s clear they treat these animals with such care.
I have a very old dachshund with nails that couldn’t be trimmed at the vet anymore, since he’s so squirmish and loses patience quickly now. They accepted a quick walk-in, let me hold him, and were so patient with my little boy! He walked out feeling brand new. I cannot begin to express how much I appreciate these lovely humans that work here! (Beth Hatter, you were incredible! We’ll remember this wonderful experience because of you & your kindness!)”
“I brought my cat in to get his nails clipped since they were super long and the woman who did it for me did a great job. I plan on going back with my cat for future appointments even though today was a walk in and within 10 mins, me and my cat were all done. I would definitely Recommend going to PetSmart at Bustleton Avenue for grooming for your pet. I'm definitely gonna bring my dog and my cat back to the same girl for repeat business. She did a great job.”
“We had a wonderful first grooming of our rescue dog. I am so glad I found a groomer that does not crate with caring and loving staff. My dog was a little shaky when we went in, since he's a bit shy at new places/ with new people. When I went to pick him up , he was as happy as can be and looked so handsome! He is a very happy boy! “We have been taking our dog to Sam at the Fishtown location regularly for grooms since 2020 and she is always amazing. All of the staff and the owner are friendly and helpful. Crumb is nervous about being groomed but they are so wonderful at Ham + Bone I don’t feel like I have to worry about her. The owner is also very supportive to our foster activities and has generously donated or discounted grooms for our especially crusty foster dogs to help them get adoption ready. I can’t recommend them enough!”
“I adopted a dog at the beginning of the pandemic when things were pretty chaotic. The SPCA handled the transition about as well as anybody did during that time and we were able to schedule a visit to meet 2 potential dogs. Everything went smoothly and we took our new dog home that day (sadly, he just passed away after 4 wonderful years with us, as he was older when we adopted him).Edit: a few days ago I returned and had another wonderful experience with adopting again. I put in an application online and was called about a week later (I believe this is because the dog was on a stray hold, so I was called as soon as the hold expired). We had to wait to be able to take him home because he had to be neutered, but we were able to visit the dog a couple of times in between the time we adopted him and were able to take him home. Staff were pleasant and friendly every time.”

“The store was very clean and smelled good. I was impressed with how much the store has improved. However, I felt like I was interrupting a private conversation between the associates at the counter. They did not seem very professional and nobody asked if they could help me as I stood at the front. Also, there were 3 people at the front, but nobody in the store to ask if we needed any help. Very odd visit.”
“This location is very clean the associates were excellent at my visit the cashier that assist me was knowledgeable, courteous polite. The other sales associate/cashier was outstanding. “The issue here is so few employees in the store these days. It's like one at the register and one to cover the entire rest of the store, so trying to get help can be frustrating you have to wander all over the store looking for that one employee. They used to have these "Call for help" buttons all over the store, but they did away with them.”
“The only reason I'm giving 4-stars is because of the owner. The two employees we worked with were solid. However, when we came back to visit our puppy a couple of times during the week (had to wait to take puppy home because he was from out of state), their vibe totally changed when the owner was around. The owner of Playful also owns Ruh Roh's pet shop around the corner. Same thing happened there. Employees were very nice without the owner present and very stressed when owner was there. Anyway, I don't know the backstory. Maybe something stressful was happening at both places on multiple days.Last thing....negotiate! The employee who helped us told us we can negotiate and we saved $700. The next day, when we returned to visit our dog, the other employee never told the other customers to negotiate and they paid full price.”
“Today was my first time visiting this Petco location. My grandson had saved up money and wanted to buy items for his new ferret. The first associate to help us was Will and I must say the service we were provided was beyond EXCEPTIONAL. It's nice to enter an establishment and be assisted without hesitancy and with kindness. “Good experience over all. We got our puppy's first set of shots for 13.00, which is great. But you have to give the dog the shots yourself. We also got a huge bone for him to chew on. He loves it. We'll be back for our next set of shots.”
