Pharmacy is very helpful in working through the complexities around meds and the insurance companies.

Gladwyne Pharmacy is my go-to pharmacy on The Main Line because they provide the best customer service experience. From the moment you walk into the establishment you are greeted by the friendly staff, who are more than eager to help you find what you're looking for. The pharmacists and their technicians work extra hard to make sure that you get your medications when you need them.I love supporting small businesses such as Gladwyne Pharmacy because they go above and beyond what you would expect from the larger companies.Don't forget to walk through their gifts and candy department and their greeting card department. There's a little bit of everything for everyone here.

The manager called the police on me because I was "browsing aimlessly." Maybe if they actually had anything worth purchasing in the store I wouldn't have seemed so "suspicious." Terrible service and giftshop!

I walked into Gladwyne Pharmacy last week, and the first thing I noticed was the smell... Smelled strongly of mothballs. After looking around for a few minutes, I realized all of the dust covering the merchandise and shelves. It was so bad that it triggered my asthma. Also, the staff was not friendly, and did not seem interested in helping me, or even interested in being there. This visit to Gladwyne Pharmacy was certainly my first and last visit. Sad to say but Gladwyne Pharmacy is off my list!

I’ve been a customer of Gladwyne pharmacy for over three years, and my family has been a customer of Gladwyne Pharmacy for over thirty years—at least, we were until today. I called the pharmacy this morning to inquire about their stock of a prescription that I take regularly and have filled here many times. The pharmacist who answered the phone told me incredibly rudely that I “will have a hell of a time finding that.” I asked why, and then I was rudely snipped at that “there are shortages of medications sometimes,” as if she was annoyed that I asked. I then tried to ask if they could possibly order it for me, and how long it would be if they could in fact get it in, but before I could get the words out, the pharmacist yet again snipped “I told you we don’t have it in stock and that’s really the information you’re looking for, right?” Then she hung up. I was appalled. I called back, irritated that I was treated so rudely, and the pharmacist picked up again, and I asked if she had just hung up on me. She played dumb, pretending that it was someone else who had answered the phone, even though the voice was clearly the same. I played along and explained the situation, and when I wasn’t being told if they could order it or not, I asked for Perry, the owner, who I have met before. When I calmly asked if Perry was in, I was barked at yet again, “no, he’s not in, and throwing his name around won’t get you anywhere.” I then proceeded to say that I’ve been a customer here for years and have never been treated like this. The pharmacist then started literally yelling at me: “I told you we don’t have it! What is wrong with you? What the hell is wrong with you?” I was then furious, in shock that I was being treated like this by a professional establishment, especially one that provides a service to patients in need. In anticipation of the pharmacy possibly responding to this review citing language from the call, I will admit that I used some coarse language at the end of the second phone call because I was angry and upset that I was treated like this. I decided to call the store itself back a few minutes later and ask for the manager, not the pharmacy. I was put on hold, and then a man named Carl said hello, a man I have met many times at checkout. I explained the situation to him, and he at first apologized and told me that they’ve been getting many calls from people asking if they have medications in stock, and that there is a lot of tension with the situation. I told him that while I understand that, frankly it’s no excuse to treat me like that. He at first placated me and said he would talk to the pharmacist. But, he did not say how he would rectify the situation at all. I told him that I would prefer to continue to support the independent pharmacy, and I asked him to call me back to see how they could rectify this. He did call me back a few minutes later, and he told me that he spoke with the pharmacist and “decided to side with her” because I became “confrontational” on the phone, which is not true. I remained calm until she started yelling at me on the phone saying “what is wrong with you?” She also refused to give me her name when I asked for it on the phone. Carl then told me that they would not be able to fill my prescriptions going forward. This business should be ashamed of themselves. With other pharmacies willing and ready to help customers, I don’t think Gladwyne Pharmacy will be around for much longer. You can’t treat customers like this and expect to have a successful business, especially repeat, lifetime customers. I will be reporting this business to the Better Business Bureau.

Outrageously priced and pretty miserable staff. I’ve gone in there a dozen times in the past few months and it always seems like I’m an inconvenience for them to be helping. I work in customer service so I understand how draining it can be, but come on.

They have everything! Even distilled water when no one else has it! SUPPORT YOUR LOCAL INDEPENDENT PHARMACIES PEOPLE! Chain pharmacies like CVS and Rite Aid have put out of business most small indie pharmacies. Fight back against corporatization of America.
