November 2022 by Ronald Helwig
I am posting here under my husband's name, since he passed away just this August. But he enjoyed working with Paul in the shop. Paul gave him advice on whether or not some watches were worth repairing, or even able to be repaired. When he noticed all the antique clocks in the shop he told Paul about the one we inherited, and how the chimes were out of sync. Paul not only offered to fix it, but he came directly to the house to do the repair. We now have a working antique chiming clock.

The shop appears to be permanently closed and vacant. We had a regulator clock repaired previously. Paul did a great job but took a very long time to complete the job.

This business is closed. Paul was our clock guy for years. He had an antique Grandfather Clock of mine for 4 years supposedly to sell it on consignment for me. Every time I asked about it he said he had someone interested in it. THEN in November he came to fix my other and favorite Grandfather clock but said he had to take it to the shop and would probably need 3 months. We have been calling repeatedly and no answer. Today my husband drove there only to find out that the business is gone and it is in the hands of the police. I have lost 2 expensive clocks to this man. I am sick about it. All I have left is the empty case for the one he was supposed to fix. God only knows where it is now.

Paul was helpful in the beginning he had to make a piece that was missing and he had a clock just like to copy it from, He did good job there and I set it up and it worked fine for a while. I had a couple issues and he stopped on his way to Charleston. Then a few months later I had a problem it stopped and when I got it working it would stop at and the hour hand would stop and the minute hand would keep going. I told him I wanted to get it fixed before the warranty was up he said that wouldn't be a problem. And then guess what happened, Paul Golfetto Quit answering the phone and would never answer any of the emails I sent and I even offered to pay for the repair I just wanted it fixed! After reading the reviews I really think the warranty is only good until he gets paid and your out the door. I would Recommend staying away from Paul Golefetto his word is not really good.

Honor their warranty commitments rather they avoid my numerous attempts to contact them and resolve the matter amicably. I have paid them in excess of $700 to repair a family mantle clock. Owner Paul Golfetto assured me that he had to (supposedly) replace the entire click movement with a brand new one imported from Germany. what I know is that I have been left with a non-working mantle clock. Unfortunately I am now forced to file a Civil Suit against Paul Golfetto at the District Magisterial Court in an attempt to recover my monetary damages.

Whatever this company was in 2013, it is now a "must avoid" unless you want to chance losing your valuable clocks or watches, or having them damaged. At our house, the owner actually dropped the mechanism of our costly antique tall clock, causing two face parts to fly off. He took the parts with him, but in over a year has said he was coming by to reinstall them but never showed up. He also has a valuable French mantel clock we left with him for routine maintenance, and won't give that back, either. This is after we have spent over $3,000. Now, the once valuable tall clock looks ridiculous (photo) and is all but worthless, and we don't have our mantle clock back at all. Look on Facebook and you can see that others are having similar issues. Good clock people are hard to find, but even the lousy ones at least give you your stuff back. But not this outfit.

Dropped off a clock for a repair quote after communicating with this proprietor via email, even sharing photos of the device. After weeks without word from him I emailed him 2x over the course of 3 weeks and still no response. When we called his business number a recoding said it was out of service so my husband drove up today to see if they were open. The proprietor was incredibly rude, alleging he had emailed me a quote. When my husband told him I had not received it but had emailed him several times with no response, he blew up and said, "I don't want to deal with this." Even if he had sent the email he alleges he did, no follow up? Was he just going to keep my vintage clock? And then to ignore and not even acknowledge the two emails I sent him? Something's seriously amiss...I'll find a more reputable, professional service.

I’ve had them take care of my grandfather clock before. They do an awesome job. I wouldn’t let anyone else work on my clock.

Paul actually picked me up because I was going to Uber to the spot where the grandfather clock was to be moved, he was professional, knowledgeable and very helpful. I gave him another antique clock to repair for me and would be happy to recommend this service to others!

Finding a good "clock" man can be difficult these days. I am grateful that I have come upon PA Clock Company (Paul Golfetto). He is knowledgeable, reliable, reasonable, and personable. He is my "clock" man.He recently serviced my tall case clock (dating to 1792), delivered it, and after delivery, when it stopped working, came to my house (a warranty call for him) and fixed it. I am grateful.
