300 for cremation of a 7 pound cat...this office is looking for money...no compassion. No follow up after procedures...just money grabbing

We've been taking our dog's here for 16 years. Tonight, we took our dog in, because she has a hematoma on her ear. As always, they treated her very well, they're gentle and all the staff are very nice, and educated. I just realized I've never posted a review, I know finding a good vet is hard so if you need one this is a great place.

A great place to take your pets. You can tell they really care. Short wait times to be seen. They do their best to work with you & are reasonably priced. They also do a follow up phone call to see how your pet is doing. Very friendly & professional staff. I would highly recommend.

Dr. Alvernini is one of the best around. Our Ludo was a regular at the vet for one problem or another. Dr A and the staff were always so kind, compassionate and loving on our dog. She really was dedicated to making Ludo more comfortable in his last few years. When we made the decision to help Ludo cross the rainbow bridge, Dr. A was kind enough to switch with the other doctor so she could help Ludo. I’m honestly going to miss our monthly visits. We love Gilbertsville Vet!

Place has gone down hill since renovation. Doctors don’t care and you can’t get an appt when you need one even if you call first thing in the morning. They tell you to take your vet to emergency vet. Always trying to get you to do unnecessary and overpriced tests and procedures. I wish dr Theodore was still there.

On 03/04/2022, our dog Claude, a year old healthy black Labrador Retriever, was neutered at GVH. By Sunday, Claude had developed a 7 pound fluid bubble on his chest/rib cage area. On 03/07, we took Claude back to GVH and, without performing any labs, Dr. Alivernini diagnosed him with a seroma. Claude's condition continued to worsen and on 03/09/2022, we took Claude to VRC where he was diagnosed with a septic abdomen, slipped into shock and underwent emergency surgery. By 03/10/2022, Claude's kidneys shut down and we had to make the difficult decision to end his pain. Throughout our ordeal, Dr. Alivernini was cavalier about the situation and treated us like we were overreacting. She still has not contacted us regarding Claude's death

My family has been coming here for over a decade. My mom, aunt, sister, and I all bring our fur babies here. They are professional and informative. All of us see Dr. Arms. whenever she calls me for results for my Zeus she will talk to me for a good 20 minutes in the phone answering any and all questions. I love it here. Dr. Reese sees my cat whizkers , and is also amazing! If there would be a time you could not get in with either, Dr. C is also amazing. one time he spent 30 minutes on the ground trying to get blood from my big guys. this place is awesome and I would not take my pets anywhere else.

Simply the best... Have had our pets seen at one time or another by most of the vets in this practice. All were thorough, competent and just as important caring & compassionate, the vet and surgery techs as well. Special kudos to Dr Hanlon & Bev at the reception desk .

I've been going to GVH for 11 years. I just had my oldest of 3 dogs in for an issue, which btw I scheduled on a weekend via text messaging! they make it so easy! and I've sent pictures of things I was concerned about from time to time and they are super responsive. I can't say enough about how great the staff is here. They are so nice to me and my 3 dogs! I generally see Dr. Hanlon and he literally talks to my dogs like they are my children, or his children! He's so sweet and loving to them, and so are the assistants. Love it!

I switched to this vet based on needing a en emergency appt and they could get my kitty in the same day! I was very happy with the service and the kindness of staff! I then had to bring our cat back to get neutered a week later! The bill I received was ridiculously high! $554 for a 9lb male to be neutered??? Had I known it would be that high, and hearing now from others that they paid half that makes me re-think staying with them! The staff was really nice and I liked the atmosphere of the vet! Just the price really bothers me seeing that a friend paid half for a huge dog! Totally bummed as we really liked them, but I can’t afford to pay double everytime!

I took my little fur babies here for the first time and I was very happy with their services. The receptionist and technicians were welcoming and very friendly. The Veterinarian was also very nice, informative but most importantly our dogs liked him. I am new to the area so I'm so happy to finally find a vet I can trust with my dogs. I would recommend this Veterinarian Hospital to friends and relatives.

$198 for a CHECKUP for a cat a few years shy of 10. Wait. What? That's not more than $55-75. The little man has zero health problems. But it doesn't end there. Inclusive of his shots, the bill was over $400!!!! FOR A YEARLY ANNUAL VISIT. FOLKS- let me assure you. This bill should not have been more than $125. This place is nothing but greed. Save yourselves the time and the money.
