I had begun looking up cars, specifically convertibles from the 2004-2010 range. Harney Motors had the hidden gem I was looking for, a Toyota Solara.
Now I can’t vouch for anyone else’s review, but I can tell you this. Harney Motors was quick with communication, and they are completely no-pressure. I asked questions about how they got the car, if they did work on it and what the work was, and even received their understanding that I was driving from about 2 1/2 hours away and wanted as much information as I could get prior to coming to inspect and test drive.
The car itself I did extensive research on—in terms of reliability, longevity, common issues, and Harney Motors provided a one owner carfax report on the car.
I came with my Uncle, who is pretty good when it comes to being mechanically inclined and working on his own cars. We test drove the car, checked it with a scan tool, checked the oil, checked underneath. Everything was solid. So, I listed my concerns (any 10+ year old car will have them), we negotiated down the price and kept a 90 day powertrain warranty in the deal.
I felt they were open, communicative and honest, and I walked away with the car I was hoping to get. It immediately passed Delaware inspection.
Now, sure it’s been a few weeks, and maybe in a few months something will pop up and make me angry and rethink this review, but as of now, if I were on the market and they had something close to what I was looking for, I’d go make the trek again, because as far as I can tell, they never lied to me about anything, they answered all my questions, they provided a hefty carfax.
They seem like good people to me, just do your research on any car you’re looking to purchase. Some hold up, some don’t.

This is a family owned and operated business. Words cannot express the happiness this family has brought me. Manuel and Andres outdid themselves to find my dream car. They were on the ball and did not fail to express if there was a concern with the vehicle I was buying. They went above and beyond to find my dream car. They were attentive and did not pressure me into buying something I did not want. I couldn't have asked for a better atmosphere to purchase a vehicle. I went to a few corporate dealerships to look at a few of these hellcats, as a big purchases such as this involves comparing vehicles and such. None of these other dealers cared or were even considerate of the consumer. I can now say with pride Harney Motors outdid themselves! From customer service to quality. Thank you guys again!

Let me first say I rarely write reviews. I don’t like giving bad reviews and usually avoid them. In this case, I felt I needed to warn others. Our initial experiences with Harney Motors were positive. They are friendly. That is where it stopped. The end of the story is we are left with a vehicle that needs a new engine. It cannot start due to a bad engine. This is after 2k of other work it needed. The vehicle had a lot of miles, this much we knew. We were told it was used to drive back and forth between Jersey and Texas and that the miles were mostly highway miles. What we found in the vehicle were uber stickers and an uber license from Jersey. We were told the vehicle had not been in any accidents. Visibly there was a crack in the front bumper and some paint scraped off. No big deal. Harney had the vehicle inspected and the radiator replaced. This mechanic would have surely seen the damage from an accident. We had two mechanics tells us there was a lot of damage inside and that someone put it back together but put together very poorly. We needed to replace the A/C condenser due to a finger size hole, no freon in the car at all due to this hole. The condenser is right next to the radiator that was replaced. Did they tell us the A/C had a hole in it? No, all we were told was the A/C needed to be charged. We were given one key fob for the vehicle. They knocked off $100 because it only had one, but there was no original key to the vehicle. It is a nightmare trying to get a key for a vehicle that doesn’t have one. Then the engine dies. Multiple mechanics look at (thinking it was the battery/alternator/starter). The engine needs replaced. So now we are 2k into this vehicle and it needs 4-5k at least to get it back. I contacted Harney and they knew nothing of the accident or the Uber. They will say they want to want to make their customers happy but none of their responses have been anything to make this right. There is no way they did not know any of this information. They will claim they did not know but when I asked for the mechanic’s report from the inspection, I never received it after being told I would. Used car dealers buy many cars from auctions and while most work out fine, some do not. But they are not standing by any sort of integrity. I understand it’s now my loss (will end up 10k loss maybe more…) and I need to do better when I look at buying a used car. Buyer beware.

Bought my Honda CR-V from Harney Motors. They were super nice and very helpful. They have a wide selection of vehicles reasonably priced. I would recommend them.

Manny stands behind his vehicles! We recently decided to spend a little more on a newer, used car in the hopes of avoiding the many potential maintenance issues when buying from a private owner. We found a car we liked here, 2015 VW Tiguan R-Line with relatively low miles, and purchased it. We were impressed with the character Manny and his son "Dre" showed. They're definitely not the stereotypical used car dealer. It's a used vehicle and they're obviously sold "as-is". We did get a basic warranty. We noticed a clunking from the front left suspension when we got home later that day that we did not appreciate on the test drive. We let Manny know about it and he said he'd cover the parts if we covered the labor since we had literally just bought it. This was on Friday. Long story short, Monday the CEL came on & it went downhill from there! It's been in the shop since then for a few different codes and ultimately needs a timing chain. You can imagine what that bill is going to be. It's a chance you take when buying a used vehicle and we understood this. At no time did we feel "ripped off". Let the buyer beware, right? It was just extremely unfortunate timing & not his fault. This repair was unfortunately not covered under the warranty despite my wife's negotiating abilities! Manny has stood by his word and beyond! He is going to split the bill with us. This kind of commitment and accountability to the customer, after the sale, is extremely rare. But you'll find it at Harney Motors. If you're in the market for a used vehicle I can't recommend them enough.

Waited for them to get a truck through inspection (couple weeks). Was in contact with them the whole time. Made plans to go in only to find out they sold the truck out from under me, never told me until I showed up there. Avoid.

As a first time car buyer and someone in distress after having an accident I feel I was taken advantage of by Harney Motors. The car value ended up being only $7,000 while I paid about double that for it. Only a few months later, I had to repair parts of the vehicle that were completely rusted out. My mechanic told me this had to have been rusting for years. They never informed me of any problems. That was another $2,000 spent. The car has many electrical issues. I’m so upset and at a loss of what to do. I won’t get my money back even if I sell. Don’t trust this place.

I certainly realize older used cars are buyer beware, however, when the car is sold under the terms that it works and is mechanically sound, one would expect the car to last atleast a few weeks before it needs work. I purchased a 2007 Truck from Harney and not even 24 hours later the truck was parked because it was shaking violently. 2 weeks into owning the truck and $1600 in repairs later the truck is finally running. All I got from Harney was “sorry the warranty we gave you didn’t cover it, hope you can find somewhere cheaper to do the work.”I would take it for what it is, risk of buying a used car, but like I said, I wasn’t even 24 hours of owning the car and I needed control arms and a master cylinder and Manny said his mechanic had inspected the car and he personally had driven it to Harrisburg and Carlisle and it ran great. The issue I encountered only happened at highway speeds which is why I didn’t know on the test drive.I’m giving a bad review because while I understand the risks of buying an older used car, to claim your mechanic looked over the car but apparently missed broken control arms and to claim you drove the car twice on the highway and not have felt the violent wobble are just neglectful if not out right lies and then to not offer to even help make it right lost my business.
