I really do feel bad when I have to rate businesses low, but this store has earned it from me. After years of not knowing they even existed, I finally stumbled upon Danny Mertz in Booths Corner but my last few experiences were enough to make me never set foot in their store again. There is a younger cashier, I went through her line because no one is in it. Well I can see why. It seems we are bothering her at her job. She gave me massive attitude the entire time. Honestly nbd we all have our days, but then she rang me up wrong. This last time was the kicker. Since I've already had 2 bad experiences with the young girl I went to the other line. Biggest mistake. Unfortunately for me I was very distracted when checking out. As I'm leaving the store I looked at my receipt. This woman charged me 60 dollars when all I bought were 2 candles that were on sale and candy for my husband that was also on sale. The bill should have been $17!! I went back, calmly waited in her line and when she saw me she didn't even let me get a word out because she knew exactly why I was there which leads me to believe it was intentional. She was very apologetic and claimed she knew what she did wrong. She was able to correct the situation very quickly and I was appreciative of that but here's the thing. This is the 3rd time that my money has been compromised at this store. How many other ppl have walked out of this store and been cheated and either not known or was too embarrassed to go back and have them fix it. It doesn't matter if it's $1 or $100 I work hard for my money as do most other customers coming through that store. With the economy being what it is that's not okay. Mistakes like this happen but shouldn't happen every time I set foot I'm your store. It's a shame, I'm going to miss those candles...

I purchased about $200 worth of the outdoor metal pumpkins that stake in the ground. I staked these in my yard no less than 2 weeks ago. I came out this morning to see them laying on the ground. To my surprise the metal stakes on the large pumpkins completely snapped off. For being nearly $40 you would think these would be sturdy but apparently the weight of the pumpkin was too much for the flimsy stake. It was a complete waste of money and I would not recommend purchasing these. When purchasing these I was not told that these could not be left outside. When I called the store to see if this is a common issue for them or if my pumpkins were somehow defective, the owner said that he could not control weather conditions. These are are advertised as outdoor use but apparently that does not mean outdoor in the fall. He said there was nothing he could do and that no one had ever complained of this before. He was willing to do absolutely nothing: no return, no exchange, no in store credit, no discount. I even asked if he could inquire with the manufacturer about possibly getting them repaired or replaced and he said they would laugh at him. Apparently his customers mean nothing to him. Perhaps my pumpkins were defective but the response from the owner was enough to guarantee I will never be returning to his store again. Based on this I would say do not waste your money on these pumpkins and to be careful purchasing any other item at this store.

Absolutely love this place! When I visit Berlin farmers market I usually only go to Mertz. They have good stuff at good prices.

This is a great place to pick up plastic containers, storage bags, paper plates, napkins, foil pans, etc. The guy that works there is really nice and super helpful. I assume his name is Danny... Hmm... Will have to ask him next time. Anyway, they have some good stuff at great prices!
