I have been to many used book stores, and this shop really gave me the "true" old-fashioned feel I was looking for. The book selection is all over the map, which is great for someone like me who's never sure what the really want to read, until eventually something just randomly grabs my attention. There a many little odds and ends around the store as well. The employee who's name I unfortunately forgot to ask for was very pleasant and engaging. In my defense, I was excited about the cat who had brushed by me when I got there, and I didn't get his/her name either.Once I finish some of the books on my to read list, I'll be back.

Booklovers can daydream what a book store should look like; here it is "Inklings". Just before of after you cross the railroad track by "Davis Feed Mill" in Rushland---get here by Swamp Road. Look at the old photos, 1930s clothes, antiques, and all nestled in between classy books of every genre. Shenandoah or Shiloh or Katrina may be beside the cash drawer ready to help or talk. I spent one afternoon on the Woodstock event...now more than fifty years ago. The place is located right beside the Rushland Post Office (a country closet) that has a friendly cat and lady.

Lovely shop, lovely staff, totally indie, women-owned and operated, books, art, community events, clothing, tea, nooks to sit and read, wood stove-heated in winter, and they even have a necessary bookshop cat! The perfect, tucked away cure for big box shopping center sickness.

A wonderful independently owned store with books, gifts, clothes, art, and more! A friendly feline will gladly exchange meows for head scritches, and if you are in need of a hot drink or a little snack, the proprietess will happily oblige.

Lovely little bookshop. Atmosphere is really comforting. I bought a bookshelf worth of books and knowledge here for an unbeatable price. Owner and workers are extremely friendly and great to converse with. Definitely stop by and check it out if you get time, you won’t regret it.

Inklings is the best! I always find something exciting and quality, at a good price, and in a perfect atmosphere for old and fantastical books. Karina knows every book in her shop to a degree that borders on supernatural, and she's always got wonderful stories of her own to tell. Also, there are cats, old chairs, and decorations and knickknacks that stimulate the imagination. I have never been disappointed by a trip to Inklings. A++.
