The online filing was very difficult,, And Un-Friendly,, and did not offer e-file,, and did not offer easy mailing of return,, and did not offer easy payment of amounts due.. The in-person in-office filing was nice and easy.

I did call by 24th of March enquired about my tax filing along with my dependants and the front office person confirmed me with all details and we had three consecutive calls to reaffirm on my case and booked a appointment by 3 PM 26th of March. As and when I dropped in the person who did attend me says that we don’t do ITIN here and you have to walk back to do a different branch in Pottstown and we don’t have appointments for more than a weeks time. The statement made by the team is totally ridiculous and irresponsible. I have travelled and cancelled my plans for this and they just respond pretty cool stating that you can walk out and book your appointments again, I am not sure who is going to responsible for this case. It’s totally devastating and frustrating

DO NOT GET YOUR TAXES DONE HERE!!!!!!!! If I could put ZERO stars I would!!To make a long story short, the tax "professional" had no idea what they were talking about, did not know how to use their own tax system, was not knowledgeable or helpful, did not know about basic wage taxes, and most importantly, never told me how much it was going to be until after they took all of my PERSONAL INFORMATION!!! $290 for the taxes and $40 for the "refund transfer fee". I usually do my own taxes, but after having my first child, I wanted to see a PROFESSIONAL to make sure that I was getting all of the tax deductions I could get. I will say, I first did my taxes on Turbo Tax (did not file) to compare to H&R Block's estimated refund, and IT WAS THE EXACT SAME!!!! I understand that this is a great possibility, but I did not receive any tax assistance whatsoever.I was so dissatisfied with their service, I immediately called the 1800 number to speak with someone because the manager was not there. In the defense of H&R block, the manager did get back to me hours later.I was NOT told up front how much it was going to cost, and they apparently have a "transparent policy of upfront estimated costs." This was not offered to me until I gave them all of my social security info, address, and other personal information. I was under the assumption it was $80 because that is what it said on the website. The "tax professional" did not ask any itemized tax questions; it was all assumed based off of my W2. I must have been asked if I was a "single mom" 4 times. No questions about ROTH IRA, 4O1k, charities, or any other potential deduction were asked -which I had questions about. The "tax professional" had so many technical glitches that it took almost 2 hours to do a basic tax filing. Not only did they not understand their own system, but they couldn't share the screen with me so I could see what they were doing (they have another screen that faces the client). The one-finger typing and not understanding how their system works with what to click took FOREVER. Even at the very end, I had to DOUBLE SIGN because of her incompetent technical errors. After I called the 1800 # and the manager called me back, he told me THE NEXT DAY that he PULLED MY TAXES FROM THE IRS E FILING QUEUE WITHOUT TELLING ME!!!! Would if I never called back???The manager sounded like he was in a chair rolling his eyes listening to me --believe me, I get it, however, you're talking about personal documents going to the government. I'm usually not a "Karen" but yesterday I felt justified after being robbed of my time and part of my taxes. To be compensated, my options were, 1) to get a $50 coupon and have another "tax professional" look at my taxes, or 2) to have my file remain out of the IRS queue and I would have to refile on my own. Getting $320 back was NOT an option according to the manager. I decided to have them not file and I would do it on my own. Complete waste of time!SO, READER BEWARE! Look at the other reviews! I wish I did before I went here!!!!

H&R has filed my tax returns for the last 7 or 8 years. There has been at least 4 different prepares and not all do small business and none of them know Quick books. The person that prepared my taxes this year did not speak English well enough for us to communicate. I was not able to understand what she was asking I had to ask her to repeat thing over and over, Further more I don't thing she understood the things that i was trying to tell her. It was a frustrating experience and taxes are stressful enough without a language problem.

Edit: My original review was much more positive, but I discovered that they had failed to fax some paperwork to the PA Department of Revenue which is required every year for my particular tax situation. Upon explaining this, they refused to do this fax portion, even though their services cost well over $400 (and I had even paid extra for the "peace of mind" insurance). I have had this issue with other H&R Block locations, but for the previous 11 years I was always able to get the representative to fax the paperwork after I explained it to them. This was an exception, which is now delaying my state return by over two months.
