Nice experience for a daytime activity! All thr staff were attentive, friendly, and Tim gave a really engaging tour. The cave was a really nice combination of accessible but all maintaining the natural beauty of the cave system.
The amount of walking was reasonable and not too strenuous, for myself of moderate activity level. I did the guided tour followed by the general self-guided tour.
The light show at the end of the guided tour was fun, if a little corny.
Exclaimers:
The guided tour is quite accessible and reasonable for someone of normal to low activity levels. Also, the cave is typically pretty spacious with high enough ceilings.
The self-guided tour is definitely more strenuous and has a fair amount of elevation change. Also, there are a number of tight passages in the self guided tour requiring me to walk sideways and/or crouch.
If you are claustrophobic, I do not recommend the self guided tour. You may be able to handle the guided tour depending on your severity.

Have been hwre a gew times and it never gets old. We took the regular tour and did the self guided tour. Our guide was awesome. The best part is on the self guided tour. The self guided part is a 17-story descent and climb, but there are stairs, railings, and some benches to rest in the way back up. Some spots were a bit of a squeeze for my size 28x self but totally doable.
The cave is incredible. 10/10.
Be sure to visit Ohiopyle too while you are in the area.

Laurel caverns are expansive and one of deepest in the U.S.--on the self-guided portion you are 15 stories below surface. Per website, "if classified as a Sandstone cave, it is the largest in the world". The guided tour is pretty easy walking and the self guided portion included in reasonable priced ticket is not as bad as they make it sound. If you can do stairs (about 100 upward total) and walk sideways you should be o.k. Benches every flight or two for rests. Everything is well lit and some creative colors and even a "chandelier" passage that extends downwards for quite a ways. You will learn some basics about cave formation, and the cave is also available for spelunking. Staff/tour guides are knowledgeable and friendly and NO TIPPING! Instead they request you complete a comment card which they use to award bonuses--what a great idea. With the usual 55degree underground temperature this is a great visit on a hot or rainy day. Website cautions against depending on GPS--we followed the suggestion to use the 1065 Skyline Drive Address then to follow the ample road signs to the caverns with no problems.

Really fun experience, worth the hour and a half drive! Loved our tour guide, Eli, he made it fun and we learned a lot!

Beautiful and surprising! Being able to enter the earth via eroded pathways in stone is almost otherworldly. The formations were fascinating and the colorful lights enhanced the experience. We especially loved the light and music presentation, the waterfall, and the optical illusion. Even though I understand the why of the illusion, my mind still perceives only the impossible. Bruno the 'batdog' was a delight. Staff was also courteous and friendly. Thanks for an amazing adventure.

The caves look good with different colors of lighting but there isn't as much to see here. It takes about an hour total to finish the guided + self guided tour of the caves. Also aren't any stalactites and stalagmites as shown in the photos reviewers have put up here.

This place was super cool! I enjoyed walking through the Cavern and seeing Hugo the bat dog. It felt very homey in there (upstairs) and I enjoyed seeing the staff interact. Our tour guide was very nice and informative, and the staff member in the bottom of the cave was also super nice! It was great making conversation. 10/10 would recommend. The gift shop is also reasonably priced! I love rocks so I got several they had to offer. So glad that we stopped here. The mountain is also very pretty this time of year.

This is an alright cave with a decent tour. Very little limestone in the rock makes for no stalagmite or stalactite formations and of course the white nose syndrome has gotten rid of most of the bats, but we did manage to see one though. Tour guide was informative with a lot of interesting facts and it was really nice to be able to go off on our own after the guided tour.

Lots of parking, there were no steps in the main areas, but the ramps are a bit steep.
It's a sandstone cave so you can hold onto the walls. The cave is approximately 50 degrees so the walls can get cold, if you're depending on them you might want gloves.
The floor can be sandy and wet in places, so shoes with good traction are important.
The tour (Tayler) was very patient and always waited for me to catch up - she was also great with the younger kids on the tour.
Only service dogs are allowed, but the one we met was treated very well by the staff who were all polite, friendly, and knowledgeable.
There are no water fountains, there is a vending machine, the tap water from the bathroom is mountain water which was cold and tasty (we refilled a plastic bottle).

If you're expecting something like Mammoth Cave in Kentucky, you'll be disappointed, but it's worth visiting if you like caves! There's a neat little light show at the end of the short tour, and if you have good health, the self-guided tour looked good! (I couldn't go very far on this path due to health problems)

I have been visiting Laurel caverns since my early childhood. It provides unique caving experiences for all ability levels. You can either go on a traditional tour or self-guided. The staff is helpful, knowledgeable, and enthusiastic. Each season they make improvements or changes to the experience. This cave is unlike others that I've traveled to for the fact that It's primarily sandstone versus the typical limestone. You can touch just about everything in this cave without damaging the surfaces.
