I am very disappointed with Dr. Scott. To his credit, he has been helpful in the past. He had an inventive way to correct my puppy’s teeth, which worked, before surgery was needed. He was very kind to my daughter when we had to put our 14 year old Pomeranian to sleep. He was able to neuter my dog, who had a testicle in the wrong place, which made his neuter a little tricky. For those things, I am appreciative.
Recently, I brought my German Shepherd, Max and my pit/boxer Shadrack in for routine check up and vaccinations. As always, they took Shadrack in the back and came back in with him all set. Then they took Max, who is anxious by nature. They were gone a lot longer and finally came back and informed me that Max was “falling apart mentally” anytime they tried to touch him. Dr. Scott would NOT explain to me what that meant. I asked specific questions, was he trying to bite, was he just thrashing around?” He just kept repeating that Max was falling apart mentally. That I would have to come back, muzzle him, and have him sedated for an extra $139 or so to get his shots.
I asked if I could assist, to try to see if I could distract him, and I was told no. I always assumed that they took the dogs in the back to give shots because I had children with me, but I had sent the kids out, and they still wouldn’t give his shots. I should have never let them take my dogs out of my sight for something like that. I’ve always been with my dogs at other vets, but again, I assumed it was because of my kids.
I left, still pretty confused. So I decided to try to take Max to a vet that would let me help hold him, be with him, and distract him. I came back two days later to fill out paperwork to have Max’s records faxed over to Choice Vet’s, across the street.
Dr. Scott had the nerve to come out of an exam room to practically beg me to take my dog “anywhere but across the street”.
I could not believe how unprofessional! This vet would not speak to me about my dog when I was in his appointment, but now he’s going to try to tell me where not to take my dog!? He finally explained that Max was trying to bite, and that’s what “falling apart mentally” means. And he then told me to be careful because I have small children! If he was REALLY concerned about the safety of my children and my dog, THAT should have been EXPRESSED IMMEDIATELY at my appointment!!
I started reading through google reviews at both Fairview Vets and Choice Vets. I think Dr. Scott and his team are afraid of bigger dogs. Stick to small dogs! Dr. Scott’s office’s comments and replies to people, and how he behaved when he found out about me going across the street, it appears as he is the one falling apart mentally about a new office across the street.
I also saw from reading these reviews that bringing your dog’s body home to bury is an option, which I was never offered. I was offered cremation and not bringing her ashes home, or cremation and bringing ashes home for an extra $200. Any time I’ve lost an animal, I’ve gotten a card with paw prints and a fur clipping, or at least a card, and there has been nothing.
Well, I just had my appointment with Max at Choice Vets, and I’m happy to report there were no lost limbs, no one was maimed, no loss of life. He never growled or even looked crossways at anyone there.
Dr. Orozco and his staff took their time with Max. Yes, he was absolutely nervous, but these people took their time and did whatever Max needed to be as comfortable and relaxed as possible. They had a spray they put on a piece of material to help him relax and had me tie it on his collar. They had peanut butter on a stick and had me hold his head and give him peanut butter as they took his temp and checked him over. They let him warm up to them. They fed him treats. We worked together to hold him and distract him with vigorous rubs and lots of “good boy” praise and happy voices and he didn’t even flinch as Dr. took his blood and then gave him his vaccinations. Dr. Johns treated my cat for months of issues, respecting my decisions the entire time. After several months, I decided to euthanize my cat. The entire staff was so respectful and explained every step of the process, giving as much time as we needed throughout each step. Thru made it as peaceful and easy as I could have ever imagined. Thank you so much for your truly kind and compassionate care with Milo.

Dr. Johns is the best! Went to see him last year for a second opinion on my 12 year old beagle. I had some reservations about her going through surgery with her age and after speaking with him, I was completely at ease. Got a check up text later that evening post procedure and was able to text any questions I had. After her procedure she had a little complication - no fault to him, yet he was able to see us immediately on a Friday evening. Recently, we needed a wellness visit, the office offered me appointments that day and let me know they offered a daycare service so I could drop off my dog and pick her up after work if that suited my schedule better. Cannot recommend this office enough. Everyone there is fabulous and treats your dog like their own. It’s apparent they are not out for money, as they also offer multiple options so you can pick what treatment/path works best for your budget. 100/10 recommend.

Dr Scott has been our Vet for over two decades and has been amazing. We had a mother and daughter cat cared for by Dr Scott. Unfortunately the mother got cancer and when she was put to sleep I held her, the office sent a beautiful bouquet of flowers and card. Our other kitty lived for 23 years with his care and our love. He is gentle, kind and compassionate . I would not trust anyone else with my pets and completely trust him.

I didn't go to the office for any visits. I'm writing this review on my experience of how upset I am being DENIED treatment for my cats. I had to "apply" for my pets to be seen. Seriously? People don't have to apply, they just walk into an Urgent Care and get treatment for whatever they walked in the door for. I understand that some animals have more of a "temper" than others and should be evaluated upon first visit. Not some blind form about your pets attitude that can change at any moment, anywhere. So you mean to tell me my pets may have to continue to suffer while I find another place because she got denied in her application? That's messed up! Would not recommend this place at all. Again, I'm not a client of this facility, was DENIED treatment for my sick cat. I'm not sure how many places do this, but the audacity of an application for a sick animal to get treatment is absurd in my opinion. How would you (Regional Vets Center) like it if you had a broken leg, or a painful Ear Infection but can't get medical help because you got denied via an application for treatment? When I got my denial email, I responded asking why she was denied, they never responded.

Dr Johns has been caring for my German Shepherd Thor and he is the only vet we have been to that is not afraid of him and was able to figure out his skin issues. He was always itching to the point where he was losing fur but Dr Johns took the time to figure out why. Thor has been on the treatment prescribed by Dr Johns for a month now and he is like a new dog. No scratching all night anymore or chewing on his paws until they are sore. Dr Johns and his staff are the best!

Not ONE word of compassion or understanding offered when my cat was taken n put down for possible rabies...NOT allowed to be in the room even when I asked to please just be in a far corner so he could hear my voice and no offer of wearing a protective gown that I was told was state required for the vet and his assistants. I was told no ashes would be returned as the state was involved n no keepsakes but saw $300 charged for the cremation along with the State fees for testing. I can only hope and pray this vet is kinder and more gentle with our furbabies than he is with people.

I have a large breed dog, he has only been to the vet for shots, as an adult, one time so at this visit he was very anxious and not cooperating. We tried a muzzle, we tried having me hold him, no go. Dr Johns and his staff were patient enough to wait for my husband to come from home which is 15 minutes away so he could help hold him down to administer his shots. It worked!!! Most vets would have probably made me reschedule. If you have a large breed dog who is anxious at the vet, I highly recommend Dr Johns and his staff!!!

They take great care of my cats and do a better job with sanitary shaves than my groomer. My eternal gratitude to the staff!

We are so happy we brought our beagle Chip to this veterinary. He was treated with so much kindness and the doctor is very thorough! We followed his course of treatment each time we had a concern for our dog and each time he pulled through. I will never take him anywhere else. They were very accommodating to our emergency situation and we are so very grateful for the care he received. If I could give more than 5 stars, I would, they definitely deserve it.

Staff knowledgeable and helpful. Dr. Is super. They got me in right away because my dog was having concerning symptoms. My previous vet who we had for 20 plus years has made us wait a week with a symptomatic dog suffering before they would see us.
