“I’m a customer from Canada and was ready to buy a lot of tree bolts for my treehouse project. After taking advantage of the free virtual meeting / consultation, the staff advised me that my trees were too small and I needed to modify my plan so that my treehouse would be safe. This resulted in a substantial order being cancelled so I am very grateful to the staff for their honesty. I will likely be shopping here again for accessories once my project gets to that stage. I also recommend the book “Backyard Treehouses” by the same owner (I think!) Honest, reliable and knowledgeable company!!”

“Problem solved! I was about to buy a new carry-on weekender bag due to a snap cover that came off. The snap itself worked fine but the exposed jagged edges were cutting my hand. The "think outside the box" team at Brandywine Ace rigged a piece of hardware (a grommet, I think) to cover my snap. Problem solved, for $1.49. Above and beyond service!”

“Local and over the top in being able to help you. I had to find a sling door lock. No one had one… That had a book to order from and the knowledge to save a $500 door fix to a $30 fix. Give them a try and you will keep coming back. I have been shopping with them for 30 years and I remember the old shop..”

“Went to by some flower soil and the lady that helped us out was very nice and it started raining outside while we were checking out and the young spanish cashier told us that we can use his umbrella to get to our car. Very nice staff and a clean store.”

“This store just moved to a new location. It's fully stocked with everything you will need, no reason to drive to HomeDepot. The owners are so helpful, you'd think they were running a non-profit organization.”

“Chris R picked up the phone when I called on a Saturday evening to see if the
Phoenixville store had a particular Weber grill in stock. He said they did so we went to pick it up. He came right out and identified himself when we walked in and made the whole transaction easy, fast and pleasant. He went out of his way to help load up the grill safely and sent us on our way to end the 4th of July weekend with a fantastic grilled feast. Thank you, Chris!”

“I purchased a battery operated leaf blower from Harbor Freight in Rochester, NY a year ago (was just outside of year warranty). The battery would not charge recently. I live in Glen Mills and so I traveled to the Downingtown store. I spoke with a cashier and he called the manager Stacey to assist us. Both employees (I apologize as I did not get his name) were extremely polite and listened to me. We plugged my battery and charging station in to verify it was not charging and then Stacey opened both a new battery and charging station and we tested my current battery in the new charging station and it still do not work. She kept my old (1 year only) battery and charging station and gave me the new one for a minimal fee. I feel both employees went above and beyond to help me and resolve the problem efficiently and economically.”

“I will always check here before other big box stores. Super friendly/helpful staff and a good selection for a “smaller” hardware store. (Small compared to Lowe’s/HD). 10/10 would recommend”

“Tried out the dry canvas waterproof rub-on bar and it works great. Application was easy and relatively quick, although I had to use a bit more wax than I initially expected. I used up about 10% of the bar on a hat and will definitely be doing my work jacket as well.”

“Michelle helped me find a part which I cannot find anywhere else because it’s for a really old hydrant and the part is probably out of production. She helped me order it from the other Ferguson branch. Although it took a few days for the part to be delivered to West Chester, it’s worth the wait because the part fits my outdoor hydrant perfectly. This is a good store.”

“I shopped here for a DIY project. This is on Lancaster Ave on the malvern/Frazer side. The parking is dedicated for this store. The staff is very friendly and assisted me in getting some materials that are needed for the project. They have a wide range of items of wood and the selection is robust and mrt my needs. Overall, it was a quick visit, but I got what I needed.”

“After making a few calls, Johnstone had the part I needed, sold it to me as a regular homeowner, not a contractor, and my furnace was back up and running quickly! Had initially called a different store in the chain that didn't have the part, but they gave me the address for the Downingtown location and put in an order to have the part set aside for me.”

“Absolutely wonderful experience. Purchased a new Samsung washing machine. Carol helped us and she was awesome. We bought a new in box unit off the floor. It was discontinued model, with an excellent reduced price. My husband applied for Lowes credit card via Carol and received a $100 off the already discounted price. I urge anyone buying an appliance to ask for Carol.”

“I had a terrible experience at the Lowe's near by and made a bee-line here. I am an art teacher and once a year I go to Lowe's (well, not anymore) to have some wooden planks cut down to use for sculpture bases. Yesterday I tried the Lowe's in Pottstown, but their wood cutting was out of order. Today I went to Lowe's in Downingtown. I selected my planks and asked for assistance. The two people in the department were busy and asked me to wait until they were free. No problem. I waited 15 minutes for them to be free. When the employee met me at the cutter, he asked what I needed done. I had 4 10' planks that I needed cut into 12" pieces. It would take about 5 minutes to do. He told me he didn't have time to do it. He said if he did have time, he would have to charge me for the cutting (I already knew that because there was a sign saying so) I said I didn't mind paying for the cutting, but he refused to do it because he "didn't have enough time." There is a Home Depot just down the road. I went straight there. They were friendly and accommodating. They cut down the wood and it took 5 minutes. They did not charge me for the cutting and helped me load up my cart. It was a world of difference and the reason I will no longer shop at Lowe's. Thank you, Home Depot.”
