I’ve been a loyal customer for years, but my most recent experience with a prescription refill left me disappointed. The pharmacist ignorance and poor customer service was surprising and unacceptable. When their computer system that managed recurring refills was down, they kept saying your doctor needs to call it in. Blamed the doctor. They knew the system was down. The pharmacist said that all the local offices knew to fax it in because the issue. Apparently my large doctors’ group in the community did not. When asked, the pharmacist hung up on me. I called back, she said she was busy. I switched to Walgreens.I will tell everyone to boycott the GE Pharmacy.

Market District is Giant Eagle's upscale grocery store chain. For my in-laws' 50th wedding anniversary party, I ordered catered food from this Market District. I will write a positive 4-star review for this particular location of Market District because the catered food tasted very good, but I do want to point out that the employees committed some large mistakes. Read on:Over two weeks before the party, I called the store to ask about their cut-off time for ordering catered food and their recommended pickup hour. The manager said that he needed only 3+ days of advance notice, and he recommended that I select a pickup time that was close to the time of the party so the hot food would remain hot. On that same day, I ordered the food through Giant Eagle's website. The website sent me an automated email that listed the specific foods, quantities, prices, and pickup time. Minutes later, a team leader emailed me to confirm my catering order. My in-laws' anniversary party would begin at 4 PM, so our pickup time was 3-3:30 PM. On the day of the party, I and three family members arrived at the catering area at 2:50 PM (yes, a bit early) to pick up the foods. The catering area was located near the aisle that has beers and wines. A catering employee kindly greeted us, and he began to carefully place our foods into our shopping carts. My order was large, and the employee tried his best to keep track of the foods as he removed them from refrigerators and warmers and placed the containers in our shopping carts. Unfortunately, the sushi department had misread our order of 6 trays as only 1 tray, so we had to wait a long time for the employees to make 5 additional trays of sushi. Then the catering employee accidentally dropped 1 tray of sushi on the floor, so we had to wait again for the sushi employees to make additional sushi. In total, we waited for about one hour! Because of the mistakes with the sushi, my husband and I ended up arriving late to the anniversary party. Before we departed the grocery store, the catering employee and the sushi employees sincerely apologized to us multiple times. The manager or team leader also apologized, and he handed us a gift card for $10. We had paid a total of $1,379.44 for the food, so the $10 gift card seemed very small. Here are my reviews for the catered foods:Hand-breaded chicken tenders - 5 stars - These chicken tenders were a large size, contained juicy white meat, and had a slightly salty breading. I had chosen sauces in flavors of buffalo, BBQ, garlic parmesan, and honey mustard. My family members said that they really liked these chicken tenders.Fruit platters - 5 stars - These fruit platters consisted of strawberries, cantaloupe, watermelon, honeydew, pineapple, blueberries, blackberries, and raspberries. These fruits were fresh and tasted very good.Mini-sandwich platters - 4 stars - I had ordered one platter with roast beef, ham, and turkey sandwiches and one platter with egg salad, tuna salad, and chicken salad. The sandwiches were a convenient size, and they tasted OK.Crudite platters - 4.5 stars - The vegetables included fresh tomatoes, broccoli, cauliflower, bell peppers, carrots, cucumbers, carrots, and celery sticks. In the middle was a container of ranch dip.Caesar salad - 3 stars - This salad contained romaine lettuce, parmesan cheese, and croutons. The lettuce and cheese were fresh, but the croutons were soggy. The employees forgot to give us caesar dressing!Meatballs - 4 stars - These meatballs were Italian-style and were served hot with marinara sauce. I ate one meatball and thought that it tasted fine.Macaroni salad - 4.5 stars - The ingredients of pasta, celery, onions, egg, and mayonnaise-dijon dressing tasted very good.Cheese and pepperoni trays - 4.5 stars - These trays contained colby jack, swiss, pepperjack, and cheddar cheeses as well as pepperoni and beef sticks. On the side were pimento cheese and jalapeño cheese for dipping.Potato salad - 4.5 stars - The ingredients of potatoes, celery, onion, egg, mayonnaise-dijon dressing, and relish tasted ver

This is no longer a Giant Eagle. It was remodeled/rebuilt and reopened in October 2022 as a Market District.

It’s sad that a pharmacist can decide for political reasons not to fill a prescription. I had to scramble to find a new pharmacy before our trip out of country. By law, if they won’t fill it, they are supposed to refer to a different source. PA allows philosophical reasons for a pharmacy to refuse, but without leaving customer without other options.

Great service at the pharmacy, always in and out and if not then there's always a whole giant eagle to get some things while you wait the long 15 minutes at most lol. They have e a magazine and book section right by the pharmacy, I don't think that was an accident. You can also check your weight and blood pressure while you wait. Overall a good place to pick up your prescriptions, just don't go hungry and get to much unnecessary stuff just cause your looking at all the snacks.

The Murrysville Giant Eagle is definitely not the fanciest/newest Giant Eagle around. The store is on the smaller side and, as a result, has a smaller variety of products compared to other larger and newer locations. The check-out area is rather cramped and while the store is organized there are many times that I've found expired items on the shelves, particularly in the dairy and produce sections. Many times I've run in to pick something up only to find that they are completely out of the item. I will continue to frequent this store, however, as it's essentially unopposed in the area and only about 1 mile from my home. That being said, they've really stepped up during COVID, adding more curbside slots and being flexible when items are out of stock. In general the employees are all very nice, particularly those in the deli, bakery, check-out, and curbside departments. I have not had any negative experiences with those in the pharmacy but cannot describe them as friendly per se.

I'm surprised by the negative reviews here. I mean, it's a grocery store, it's typically the most neutral experience a person can have. That said, I gave it five stars because I was there yesterday scanning some items when the lady behind me decided to start mixing her stuff into mine (cus, you know, using that divider is hard). No worries though, it just caused a brief mixup and I thought all was solved. Turns out though, one of my bags that contained about $100 worth of baby food had gotten mixed up with the lady's stuff and I'd left it there. So the cashier (receipt says it was Tony) finds it, runs outside, finds me as I'm loading the stuff in my truck, gives me the bag, and runs back inside. I just thought he deserved some credit for the extra work.

This is a poor grocery store. Selection is limited after their products. They are often out of common items - today didn't have diet ginger ale, diet caffeine free coke, ground lamb, and lime aid - this happens all the time there. If a half-way decent grocery store opened in Murrysville, they would quickly this store out of business.

Manager Teri runs the best pharmacy in the state, amazing customer service. Techs Matt, David, Chris, Michaela are like family. They all deserve raises!

Old, outdated, and somewhat dirty. If a competitor moves nearby, this grocery store will be out of business in 3 months. For now, without competition, they can continue to run this store into the ground and people in the area will still show up. You expect more from a Giant Eagle especially at their prices.

The manager, Loretta and the bakery staff turned a bad situation into a great one, a job well done!

Never enough cashiers. Why have some many checkouts and only have two open? Some the employees are really nice but some of the younger ones are like talking to a wall, a wall that hates people.
