On one of the worst days we could have imagined, the staff and Dr were exceptional. If we compare it to a human ER they were very fast they brought her in did several tests and arrived at the diagnosis we were most afraid of. They euathanized her for us and gave us as much time as we wanted to say good bye. They were very compassionate and caring. We arrived at 2:40pm and left at 5:40pm, the reviews I saw complaining about how long it took I don't think were fair. We've taken my mother in law to the ER and been there 6+ hours more than once. I can't say enough good things about this place and highly recommend it in times of need. Today we got a condolence card from them.Thank you from the bottom of my heart.

All about money not your pet if you love your pet. Stay away from here. Find someone who cares

Absolutely amazing vet. May have been expensive on a Sunday but they ended up saving my dogs leg

Would absolutely recommend this vet to others. Brought my puppy in that was having a horrendous allergic reaction to who knows what, and the staff here was very kind and communicative. Although I did wait in the parking lot for my puppy for quite some time, it was a Sunday evening and they had advised me they had other emergencies inside- but kept me updated. Aside from my wait, we had a great visit. Hopefully I never will need to return (because no one ever wants a pet emergency), but if I have one, we’ll be returning!

After my cat was hit by a car. I brought him here at first I was very frustrated. It took about 2 hours to be seen. Then it seemed like the money was more important than the service. Once they realized that money was not important to me they seemed to really step up Once they got him in and started testing they only got the xray and realized his back was severed. He was not able to urinate without help. His quality of life would be alot of pain with no chance of getting better.so unfortunately that left only one humane choice euthanasiathey were very supportive through the process and did not rush us when we said goodbye I would like to thank them for everything they fid to help through the process.

What an absolute joke this place is, just like most before me I'd like to leave zero stars. Please if you have an Emergency just go somewhere else. We drove an hour and a half just to wait in their parking lot for 2 hours. All we kept being told the entire time was that they were "stabilizing current patients" but we were the only ones there. On one of the occurrences that we called to see what might be taking so long the receptionist "Patty" told us to quit badgering her and hung up on us. Pure lack of professionalism, care and urgency. Avoid this place at all costs. The only good that came from our "visit" was they ended up saving us probably $1000 by being so horrible. Do yourself a favor and go literally anywhere else.

I would give negative stars. Taking advantage of people. Called as was driving from an hour away. Told we could arrive, call, and someone would come out get dog on arrival. Dog was not even triaged. We are here from FL, visiting my mom with pulmonary fibrosis, possibly last time ever, dog lives with her. 3.5 hours later still sitting here, not even seen. Now no time to see my mother. Told them situation they said oh well there is no staff basically and tried saying that in the hour since I called they got this busy. Bull. They never should have had us make the drive. They said well everyone has hard situations. So so horrible. Definitely do not get sucked in because you will just end up hacing to go to own vet after waiting for hours missing time with other loved ones you will never get back for no resolution anyway.

Charged us 700 dollars to do a blood test then another to almost 400 to put him down. The cat was one and sick with no white blood cells . 1100 dollars after we just lost everything in a house fire. I will be sure to be more proactive in the future from ever having to use this place .

This place definitely takes advantage of people having nowhere else to go. They recommend different services that aren't needed to see if you agree. Most people don't question what a vet tells them. They don't let you in the building, so you don't even know how they are treating your animal or if they are doing what they say they are. We paid $500 for a visit because my cat was constipated. They tried running multiple, unnecessary tests that would cost hundreds more. They kept changing the final price and saying they charge for "miscellaneous services" but won't tell you what they are. We were told over the phone that they were doing stuff that they didn't actually do until hours later. We were the only patients and sat in our car over 3 hours. Will never go back.

WORTH THE READ. I normally do not post negative reviews, but I was disgusted by the behavior I was met with at this ER. I found a dog running along the I-90 just over the NY/PA border yesterday and looked for a place to see if she had a microchip. She was a very hyper dog and barked at everyone she saw except me. She ran right into my arms and must have been outside for days if not weeks. When I got to the vet, a tech came out to check if she was chipped. I opened my car door and grabbed the leash I had gotten her and she darted out towards the tech. I grabbed her so fast that I wouldn't know if she was excited or angry. She was barking and the tech was calling her a nasty dog and went inside to get a muzzle (this I am not opposed of, I understand it is for safety). Not only did she call this dog nasty, make me get the muzzle on her MYSELF, but she proceeded to say "I would just take her back to the I-90," implying I just leave her where I found her. I think my jaw hit the parking lot. I would hope the rest of the staff here actually cares about ALL animals, not just the "easy" ones.

I had an incredibly frustrating experience at this place. After waiting for over 2 hours in the parking lot with my dog, it became clear that they were severely understaffed and unprepared to handle the number of cases. What's more concerning is the complete lack of care for the well-being of our pets. It didn't matter what the case was; they simply didn't care. I strongly advise anyone reading this review to think twice before entrusting their pet's life and their valuable time to this place.

Awful, rude, inhumane . Joann took no issue with allowing a sick cat to lay its own ursine in a crate, after telling me to bring him to the clinic asap without making it known that they had a two hour wait. Her tone was insensitive and dismissive and when I called to tell her we were leaving she happily said “ok!” Her tone went from cruel to cynical. In only the worst of situations would I ever suggest allowing your pet to encounter these people/ give then even a penny of your money.

Apparently there is a character limit for these reviews, so the short version: I would actually give them negative stars if it was allowed. All of the reviews about them just being money hungry and not caring about the pets and/or owners are 110% accurate! They know they are the only gig in town so they can do whatever they want to you and/or your pets, and when you call them out or question them, they tell you you don't have to take the treatment, you can go to Pittsburgh, and stop being difficult and pay their inflated prices.See full review on Yelp for all the lies and mistreatment from here. Posted here to make sure that everyone has the ability to see the warning about this place whether they are on google or Yelp.

Extremely thankful for the care at Northwest PA Pet Emergency Center. Our pup was turned away from our local vet (even though we made an appointment), because they over booked themselves. We went to Northwest PA Pet Emergency Center because her condition got worse and started to become critical. We had to wait awhile to be seen, but it was worth it! The staff took wonderful care of her, gave us updates during her overnight and hosptial stays, and we got a refund for the services they didn't need! The staff were also very kind to me, and I could tell they truly cared about my pup. While I missed having her home, I felt reassured knowing she was getting the best care that she needed at the time. Now she's back home safe, and I can't be more grateful!
