Very nice, small museum of Erie maritime history, with most emphasis rightly placed on the Flagship Niagara and its role in the Battle of Lake Erie during the War of 1812. I would like it if they had more info on Erie's own Daniel Dobbins.

We both toured the boat and spent some time in the museum. The guide was very knowledgeable, friendly, and informative. The museum had a lot of different pictures and artifacts on display. The Erie Maritime Museum is owned and administered by the Pennsylvania Historical and Museum Commission and is a community gathering place welcoming audiences of all abilities and backgrounds to encounter and experience the maritime history & heritage of the Greater Erie region, including civilian activity and innovation, military service, and Pennsylvania’s contributions to the maritime industry and stewardship of the Great Lakes.
Exhibits include the War of 1812, USS Michigan/Wolverine, US Life-Saving Service, Shipbuilding, and our largest exhibit - the U.S. Brig Niagara, a replica of Oliver Hazard Perry's relief flagship in the Battle of Lake Erie.
