I went into Dollar General with my mom to buy a phone from them. I asked one of the clerks if she could open the case and started asking questions about a phone. She basically said IDK and IDC about what I was talking about. I said something like if you don't want to help the customer why do you work in customer service? She immediately told me to leave the store which I had no problem doing but my mom was in there and I felt like I didn't say anything that would provoke her to throw me out of the store make a long story short she ended up calling the police I didn't know she called the police, we had already left. She copied my mom's license plate number. I had to go to the district justice for harassment I was found not guilty and they had to pay all the court costs. It was absolutely unnecessary and to take the time out of my busy day to go to court for something that was the waste of taxpayers money was ridiculous. She looked like she was on drugs and the manager did too. I couldn't expect anything less.

To address some of these reviews the floors look aweful due to the fact that people do not want to work so getting anything done while short staffed is impossible especially with the amount of stock that has to be done us employees at this location have not been trained on the app none of us use it so we do not know how to set it up or how it works, we hire people they work for a week get a paycheck then quit we are doing the best we can when we say we dont have time at that moment its because we truley do not have time the amount of work that has to be done between 1-2 people per shift is insurmountable we are doing our best with what little we have my job is to always keep my customers happy however thats not always possible as we as employees have rules and regulations to follow and customers are not always going to like if we cant fix something or jump to every becon call but please understand we are trying! Also this location closes at 9pm NOT 10pm the hours are posted on the door right when you walk in please refer to the posted hours as google does not know it all! And to address when the pet food was all out it was due to a ac unit flooding in the ceiling we lost everything in that aisle and had to wait for trucks to deliver more product honestly all you have to do is ask one of us why something is out what our hours are ect we will gladly keep you in the loop! All we ask is please be patient with us while we find a balance with running this store thank you!

Apparently it's appropriate for staff to guilt customers walking in about how the cashier doesn't have anyone to celebrate Thanksgiving with and seemingly want customers to invite her so she has somewhere to spend the holiday. Apparently that's customer service nowadays.

I walked into the store 7:30 on a Sunday night the floors look like they haven't been mopped in 4 months there was no dog or cat food on the shelves it's just the worst so I've ever been into

Stopped by one night before closing (10pm) arrived at 9:45pm and was told they were closed even though the door was unlocked and I was already inside the store, that's okay. I'll go somewhere else.

Kind of a random store. Can never depend on items being there. Most DG's are filthy. Cheap though.

The store was incredibly dirty. The floors looked as if they had not been mopped in months. The aisles were crowded with ladders and carts of boxed items, though there were no employees stocking. The register area was so crammed with displays it was impossible to tell where to go. The employee at the register was not only taking a personal call on her cellphone, she was doing it via speakerphone. I really wasn't interested in her and her friend's plans to go back to Ohio and work at Cedar Point. This was my first time in this store, and it will be my last. Next time I will make the drive out to Wegmans or Walmart instead.

Tonight around 6:40 pm, I spent about 30 minutes selecting my items at the West 12th St location in Erie PA. When I inquired about obtaining the sale prices I was told by on clerk that he didn’t have time to help me set up the app, and the second clerk also told me she didn’t have time to help me. Since I couldn’t get any help I decided to not purchase the items, and left. The male Clerk added that he hoped I had a nice day, after refusing to help me. There are many other discount stores that would want to help me, so I won’t return to this store.
