Love this shop. Always very good merchandise. It's set up and staged well. The ladies who run it, personable and helpful. At very least you can get it a great book super inexpensively.

I used to love this store but over the last few months the prices have been jacked up to ridiculous prices. Not only that but they changed the discounts so now there are only 2 color tags on sale instead of 3 like there used to be. I have seen many items that are priced HIGHER than you can get them brand new in a retail store. I understand that costs are rising for overhead items like rent and utilities but it feels like you are taking advantage of inflation when you get all of your inventory for free. Get your prices back in line for a thrift store selling used items and you will sell more.

i do like shopping at all the thirft stores...and i enjoy the hunt...what alarms me about all the thirft stores ive been shopping at is how staggerring theyre prices are...i mean waaay to high...most people that shop at these stores are unemployed, some might be homeless, some are on a fixed buget, some are on ssi or ssdi or some might be part/time workers and some might be just getting mimium wages....these stores should be a shame of themselves chargering the public these outagerous prices....and then get this NOW THEY WANT YOU TO BRING YOUR OWN BAGS?COME ON NOW!!!...bring our own bags...you mean to tell me that these stores thats suppose to be for the community cant supply theyre coustomers with bags!!!?THATS A SHAMMME!!! these stores raising theyr prices sooo high...we might as well go to "gabes" go to "big lots" and go to "walmart" beause the second hand stores are up there with these stores i just mention..and all the goods that they are saling is donated from the community...come on now our own bags!!!...and then the salvation army wants you to PAY for theyre bags?SMH!!!!....the nerve of them higher ups....recession inflation whatever...we are going through it tooooo...these people in higher up offices need to quick making US lil people suffer because they loosing money out of theyre pockets??????thankU??????amennn...mzLadi?

I usually donate here, rather than other places because I like what they do for the community. I enjoy shopping here, they always have quite the selection. The store is nice, clean & set up nicely. However, one time we stopped 20-25 mins before they closed, looking for 2 items in particular. The women behind the counter looked irritated because we were there. After only being there for 5 mins, one of the women came across the loud speaker saying they are closing in 5 mins. When they announced they were now closed & hurrying us out the door, they shouldve been opened for another 12 minutes! I just found it very rude for one and two, doesn't seem like they were concerned about making any $ when they are pushing paying customers out the door before closing time.

Tactless Donations Manager: no greeting and extremely short; walked away abruptly, without a care. Donated to this location many times before without a problem. Felt mistreated enough to report this. He was young and has an arm full of tattoos. First time encountering him.

The Erie City Mission Thrifty Shopper has got to be the nicest, cleanest, best prices and selection thrift store in the Erie area and beyond. It has everything you'd expect to find in a thrift store except all their stuff is really nice or brand new! And the staff is most welcoming and friendly, and is always ready to help you out. If you've never been there.. you might just be surprised, because when you go you never know what you may find. Great experience every time. Highly recommended. 10 out of 5☆'s!!!

I have never seen a thrift store with more professional displays than this. The person who does displays at this shop is a real pro. Prices drop progressively as noted on the colored price tags (this helps keep inventory moving and is an excellent practice for thrift stores). The inventory selection was my biggest complaint. There was little in terms of practical goods (appliances, kitchen, electronics) heavy bent towards womens items (clothing, purses, bric-a-brac). This may merely reflect what people are donating, but it could also be an inventory collection, processing, or pricing issue.

Nicely displayed, however, they have items priced for $2.99 and up that are sold at the $1 tree. What's up with that?

Nice selection but they believe some of their things are made of gold and are over priced for donations. I have seen one small glass vase sitting there for months because of that and would buy it but it's priced too high. If they do have an antique it's not a bargain...they want a high price. Men's USED slippers 6.99 I have bought same price clearance NEW. So you have to definitely pick and choose. The junk is priced junk prices and anything remotely nice they charge not so thrifty prices for.

This is a huge store. They carry household items, furniture, clothing, purses, accessories and jewelry. There are kids toys and kids clothing. The layout is a bit different than a typical store. The layout is designed to be a show room type. The store is hidden away on West 16th and is hard to see from Pittsburgh Ave.

From record albums to a full-length leather coat, this store never runs out of amazing things that I have purchased over the years at excellent prices.
