It truly is Beer Heaven. Make a point to visit when i come home to PA. Great selection of craft beers as well as international beers. Add on the fact that they have taps to fill growlers and crowlers and will let you sample prior and it's a perfect place to stock up.

First time visit. Heard so much about it. Huge selection but I left with nothing. I'm an ipa guy. Most inventory lacked any labels. You had to inspect the cans or bottles to try and figure out brewery and specific beer. I always check for canning dates. There were sooooo many ipas with dates over three months old. I saw a Toppling Goliath four pack that was over six months old. The place was surprisingly vacant - for as big as the place is, there was very little foot traffic for what I thought was prime time of around 5:30. Employees were pretty much idle and none of them asked if they could help me find anything. Truly disappointed in a place that's supposed to be one of a kind. Seems like they reached their pinnacle and everyone will accept mediocrity.

Has a ton of beer. Got a bit overwhelmed looking for something....asked a question to a staff member and was basically brushed off. Said to me we don't carry that brand. It's a brew by a brewer you carry...you have the brand. So I enquired if he knew if said brew was seasonal and when. Got the "it must be seasonal". Hey thanks guy. ?

This is an exceptional beer distributor. I've been coming for a couple of decades now but only every now and then when I am in the area. It's always been on top of things. Great selection, organized, clean, and care about the product. They recently (to me) refreshed the place and it's got bigger, better options for singles, mixed sixes, cases etc. Frankly I wish they were closer to me.

Not the shangy's of old hadn't been there in a few years and post covid Avery very small selection of imports. No list of available beers will need to find a new beer store for imports. Probably great if you want us ipa.

These cheap A-holes will sell you expired beer. Purchased on 8/24/23. Got home to took one sip and knew it tasted off. Come on man, beer authority? Laughable. Not the first time this happened here. Shouldn't have to check dates on a common ipa like stone to find it over a year old. They're all about appearance. Find a smaller better distributor. Should be easy.

Shangy’s is legendary for its inventory, but I am degrading one star because their inventory is not available online. They don’t have a legitimate website, just a Facebook presence. There are other nearby, beer, distributors, who have decent aSelection and online inventory.

I went there to buy some German beer for friends visiting and discussing a trip there. I bought a case of a popular German beer, and when I got home and we were drinking it, I noticed the beer was 2 months past the best-by date. I went to Shangy's and discussed with a manager the problem, his response was a chilling "yes, I know. They are all expired. The owner does not want to reduce the prices". Examining other German beers, many were past their best-by dates. None were marked with this detail, and none were even discounted. Their strategy seems to be hoping nobody notices they are buying expired beer. Avoid.Edit / Response to owners response: I did bring one bottle to show it was past due date, I did not ask for any return or refund but one was offered (if I returned the 6 empty plus 18 full bottles), and I do have my proof of purchase. Maybe your manager is not telling you the actual events. My concern is quality. I live in Munich (vacationing here now), the beer I bought is a hometown beer from a brand I regularly drink. I went back to inform your store you were selling, probably unknowingly, out of date beer, not for a refund. The fact you were knowingly selling expired beer (with no disclosure to the buyer) is to me something unforgiveable, as this beer represents my home town and I am defending the honor of my local breweries. Beer represents Munich, and buyers deserve to have fresh beer with the fresh taste. Beer looses flavor with age, and stale beer is an insult to my home town.

This place is great! Took a trip up here cause I heard they had so many craft beer choices to choose from. When you walk in a sign says "Welcome to Beer Heaven". And yes it is, but sometimes it can feel overwhelming cause there was too much to choose from. It's not necessarily a bad thing, it's just you'll be there for two hours deciding what you will buy hahaha. It's still a fantastic place if you are looking for a certain craft beer or an import beer. I recommend!

This is by far the nicest beer distributor I have ever visited. They have such a large variety that I could spend hours just looking at everything. I always recommend it to friends and family, and the few times I have actually brought friends to this location, they are always impressed. Highly recommend.

CHECK THE DATES if they're still on.. I was going there all the time buying beer at full price that was WAY OUT OF DATE one was from 2021! This review is 6/2023 When mentioned to the staff they had to text to see if it was ok to discount, then said they usually don't do it but will. Then said well we have plenty of beer that not out of date.., and honestly said " we put that out there for people that don't check the dates" AT FULL PRICE!! We're talking $26 a 4 pack.. I'm all about local business not shady business. Every beer I get from there now I feel is out of date and something could be wrong with it.totally ruined the experience.. I have gotten a bad one.. and one I bought that night had no date and I feel Was bad as well. It was so carbonated it was like drinking champagne and had weird aftertaste. Do better that's not ok business.

Great selection but watch the dates. I just brought home a IPA that was 14 months old. Shame on Shangys!!!

I love spending 10 minutes checking for dates to see how many months.. or years .. expired the beer is just to try and find something decent for myself. Saw this one today. You guys did a great job blowing the dust off this 3 year old.

Drove and hour and purchased over $200 worth of beer. Only to come home and open a $50 case of all expired bottles. Called and the owner said he wants the beer back. He gets a credit from the manufacturer. Really bad business instead of asking for picture of receipt proof and refunding over the phone. We are now out two trips over an hour each way because they’re not checking their inventory closely.
