Can't say enough about the service and compassion that kopec vet. offer... jess was quick to respond to my emergency call... sadly after 2 hours of trying to save my late husbands horse, jess had to put him to sleep...she was so kind and compassionate with my loss and never did I feel like a I was just a number to her....

Our normal vet was out of town when our mare went down for no reason. She recommended a local vet in our county to come out and I didn't get a call back. After 20 minutes I tried again and the vet refused to come out since she had never treated the horse before. When I told her my vet recommended her and that the situation was dire she still refused.
As I went through Google suggestions I came across Kopec Veterinary. They responded promptly and compassionately. Even though they are an hour away they still came out. Sadly the mare passed, but Brian did a basic post mortem to evaluate what had caused her sudden collapse. It is such a relief to know that there are veterinarians out there that truly have the best intentions and compassion towards a new client in a time of need and answers. I am so grateful for their services.

Very good very knowledgeable and kind veterinarians. I’ve appreciated the care they’ve given my mare and the patience they’ve had with me as an owner who has been away from horses for a long time. I would recommend them without hesitation. Thank you for all your help!!

The whole team at Kopec has been wonderful to work with over the years! I'm saddened to be leaving their service area, but couldn't go without leaving them a well deserved review. My family has used them for many years. I love their app for easy communication and scheduling. The staff is always friendly and helpful. Their prices are fair for the area in my opinion. They're very thorough with their examinations and procedures, kind to your animals, and considerate of your concerns. Overall top notch care! Thank you to this wonderful team for the many years of great service!

1 star is too many.
I had an 11am appt to say goodbye to my horse of 20 years. At 1059am, I received a text from the office that the vet would be AN HOUR late. After calling the office, I learned that the vet was tied up not from an emergency but from “diagnostics” at her previous visit. After voicing how unhappy I was that the worst day of my life just got even more terrible by now having to wait another hour for the inevitable when I had already said my goodbyes, and was ready at 11am for the vet to arrive.
The practice owner called me stating I had three options, wait the hour, she would come out immediately but that she would be charging me an emergency fee to do so, or find another vet to come out….all while belittling me for my “unacceptable behavior” in how upset I was for the fact that her office couldn’t have reached out ahead of time to prepare me for her vets tardy arrival to a euthanasia appt that was scheduled 3 weeks in advance.
The owner had ZERO regard for what an emotionally taxing event this was, the people that took time away from work that morning to be with me and the other industry professionals this impacted and his customers- such as the gentleman from the removal company and two of his clients who were anxiously awaiting the scheduled return of their loved one’s ashes.
This was an unacceptable way to do business- especially for a euthanasia appt.

If I could leave a ZERO review I would. To schedule an appt to have your beloved horse put down and then call/text ONE minute prior to the Appt time to say that you will be an HOUR late is unacceptable and unprofessional.

We've been using Kopec for our horses for a few years. The vets are knowledgeable and friendly. Their new hospital facility for more intensive care is beautiful and state of the art. When you schedule a farm call, they are typically on time within 10 minutes of your scheduled appointment. If they are running late due to an emergency, the office staff will contact you promtly to let you know. They utilize phone, email, and text as ways to contact them. They are incredibly responsive to any type of communication. I recommend them for your equestrian veterinary needs.

Love Dr Jess and her team!! She was awesome in doing multiple surgeries and chemo on our horse. Also met the owner when our horse needed to put down due to cancer, so kind, giving us time & treating our horse kindly!Communication is easy & quick... Just overall awesome people with knowledge and kind hearts!

I am a long time client of KVA. I called to get some advice on how to handle a pre-purchase exam for a horse outside the state. Dr. Brian went above and beyond with providing me guidance, and I went into the situation much more prepared than just hiring a third party vet to do the exam. I felt that, as a KVA client, they were more than happy to go the extra mile and back me up. I have always been pleased with KVA’s willingness to answer questions directly and give honest recommendations.

Wonderful care for our horses! They have been our equine vet for 2 years since we moved to the area and we have been super happy with their service and expertise. Every time we have had an emergency, they have been quick to respond. And they have always taken the time to answer all of our questions about anything horse related. We are very happy to have them take care of our horses.
