My kid had his birthday here the other day. A pavilion was rented outside of the pool area which is kind of weird, but convenient for having things not permitted inside the pool area (ie: smoking, vaping, and I'm assuming alcohol though we didn't have any). First time ever experiencing the Ebensburg Pool, as well as most of the other people there.
My first impression was that it looks really nice and really clean, but the layout of the pool, itself, makes absolutely no sense and I believe contributes to some issues for the overall experience. Honestly, I was just wondering what the thought process was for the shape of the pool? Had they stuck to the typical rectangle shape, I feel like it could be enjoyed by all a lot better. For one, there's a major lack of shallow area for smaller kids and kids that may not know how to swim, but the "kid" zone area is too shallow for those same kids. The kid zone is amazing, don't get me wrong, but I feel like the in-between kids (like, maybe 6 years to 12) don't have much area to play/swim in. The area of 2-3ft deep water is insanely small. I saw so many adults hanging out in this shallow end, too, that I wondered how any kid was supposed to comfortably move and play. Those same adults, during their "adult swim time", just sat there and didn't budge.
Which brings me to.. adult swim time? As soon as we walked into the pool area we were told it was adult swim time. Never in my life have I heard of adult swim time. I understand that there's a lot of kids splashing about at the pool, but.. it's the pool. It's going to happen. If adults didn't want to "deal" with kids at the pool then maybe they shouldn't be hanging out in the 2-3ft area which is already tiny. That's like going to a playground and complaining that there are kids there. And to top that off, they cone off the actual KIDS area during adult swim time. What? How about coning off the "temporarily adults-only" area and still allowing kids to play in the KIDS zone? Kids go there to swim and play. Adults go there to just stand around in the water, from the looks of it. The priority here seems weird to me, but maybe it's just me.
Also. Tubes aren't permitted and I'm going to guess that's also due to the awkward shape and size of the pool (understandable), that doesn't allow for much wiggle room with floaties. My younger child was so upset that he couldn't use one because he doesn't know how to swim yet, but we still managed to keep him entertained there. Neither of my kids are interested in going back. But hey, at least it looks good.

This swimming pool is really nice. We went swimming on an unusually chilly night, but the pool is heated and the water felt great. There is a shallow kiddy pool area if you have little ones that can't swim, and also some water slides for the bigger kids.
