Joseph Confer - Excellent Tax preparer! This was my first time using H&R Block and I'll be a repeat customer because of this rep. We had someone prepare our taxes in the past an it was not a good experience, so I usually take care of our taxes. this year we wanted to make sure things were good so we set up an appt here. I had a coupon with employer so it was a bit more enticing.
We originally made the appt online with one tax preparer (autoselected) and were kind of hesitant based on the pic that came up - ngl. When Joseph greeted us, I am glad we got him, he was very personable and friendly and added a personal touch to this process. He made this process so easy and low stress. We all know tax time can be not so fun, but he is a pro. I felt like he genuinely cared about us as customers and really wanted to make sure our taxes were done right. He was very knowledgeable and professional throughout the whole process. He has only been doing this for 2 years but I said to him I felt very confident in what he was saying and he clearly knew what he was talking about when it came to taxes! I am an RN and I like to think I know how to read people, and he was genuine. I really expected that this appt was going to be awful and a miserable time - ITS TAXES! But Joseph is clearly a shining star in this field- he really loves what he does and that makes the difference! I enjoyed working with him, and I will def only have my taxes done here next year if he still works here. I like to give credit where credit is due, and I seriously hope the management reads this and does something for him! I know that sometimes old school people may think that preparers should be serious and just do taxes, but if he had been not personable I would have just left and done the taxes on my own. He is the reason why I would come back to have my taxes done professionally. I appreciate 'real' people being themselves. This world is full of unhappy people- Joseph: you are good at what you do and I hope you keep this passion and keep learning. ChatGPT is awesome.
The only thing I found odd about this office: Why don't they give every tax preparer a calculator and a desk scanner? I work in IT and I feel like you need the right equipment to do your job correctly. This is an H&R Block problem not a preparer issue :)

Our tax professional is top notch. My wife and I have struggled for years (over 20) trying to understand the tax process and get answers. Our tax prep professional has made things simple, kept it profesional and yet was still personable. Steven at Forks, great job!!!

Tamara Howard is Rock Solid. Tamara's skillset is by the far the BEST I have ever seen. She took the time to explain my return in detail once she was done, great conversation while she was doing my return. She made me feel like I was a friend and not just a customer. Very pleased and looking forward to seeing for years to come.

Make sure to ask what the cost will be at the beginning of your appointment. We were not told and were surprised at how much it was at the end.
