βWe purchased a new home earlier this year that had a combined family, dining, and kitchen space and were unsure where to start with putting together a cohesive design plan. We had spent an entire day picking out a dining room table and didnβt know how to build around it. We met Rylie Roberts at Ethan Allen and explained our situation. She asked a lot of questions to get a feel for our likes and dislikes and then crafted an entire floor plan to pull the space together. She walked us through all of the different choices and listened patiently to our reaction and suggested alternatives. She even offered additional appointments so that we could get comfortable will all of the selections which we took her up on.
We felt confident with her design and moved forward by placing the order. The process was seamless and she worked with us on the timing of our new construction so that we could ensure delivery soon after we settled. She communicated with us frequently to keep us up to date on the status. The result is exactly what we were looking for and balances comfort and style. She visited our home to see everything in the space and helped make adjustments and suggestions for the future.
I cannot overstate the peace of mind we had in entrusting her with the most important space in our house. Rylie was personable, professional, patient, and has a keen ear for listening and an eye for design. We were so impressed with her work that we engaged her services for additional rooms. I highly recommend reaching out to Rylie!β

βI needed a gift for someone who has everything. This little boutique drew me in with their eye catching window display. Upon entering I was greeted and left to look around on my own. This shop is packed with everything you could think of - jewelry, candles, journals, bath products, handbags, crystals, and clothes! So many unique pieces too, lots of one of a kind items. The business owner, Natalie, is kind and engaging and wrapped my gifts (a moss amigo and hand poured candle) carefully. I guarantee you'd be able to find a gift for anyone in this store. I know I'll certainly be back.β

βAmazing gift/decor store! Ever since I was a kid passing this store I have always wanted to go inside. I stopped in on a whim and I am so glad I did. I wish I had been here sooner. The store turns every few months depending on the season. Right now it was filled with 90% Christmas. They had some beautiful antiques as well. The female working was so kind. She helped me here and there while I was walking in. I highly recommend this store!β

Alison was so helpful, kind, and helped me find so many dresses to try on, including my dream dress. They have so many styles and can accomodate any price range! I did not buy my dress that day and wanted to sleep on it- which was encouraged by Alison, which is wonderful that there was no pushy salesperson attitude. They truly want you to think through your big purchase and make sure you pick what you love.
A week later, I reached out wanting to try on the dress again before purchasing- they were able to fit me in, and I ordered the dress that day. It came directly to my house a few days later. Highly recommend!β
βThis store in a sentence: how the upscale moneyed set looks like they're outdoorsy without actually being outdoorsy. Or: decor, gear and outfits for entertaining at the "cabin" in the Berkshires. Tucked into a shopping center off busy Lancaster Ave/ US -30 in Paoli sits Trove General Store. It's a beautifully merchandised, well laid out store featuring warm brown tones against cool gray, some "vintage" style accents, mix of clothing, decor and housewares. None of this is "general store" unless you've got a cozy 6 bedroom cabin or a chalet at Aspen. You want to look outdoorsy without being outdoorsy- catered clamping is roughing it. Everything is lovely, and $55 is a sale price for a shirt. Three melamine stacking trays in different sizes will run you $85. Spotted a thick book on how to go camping that will not help you go camping but will look great on a shelf or a side table. Expensive, tasteful, fun to visit. I am not their customer.β

Two designers had previously told me to work with The Velvet Shoestring and I wish I started consigning with them years ago. They're courteous, professional, and customer friendly. They have an eye for all of the little details that most people would overlook. Communication was excellent, we received an update every Friday about the progress. Their presentations for the furniture and light fixtures made it easy for us to choose from multiple options. The thought of furnishing a 6 bedroom home was overwhelming and Proximity Interiors made the whole process a blast. We could not be more thrilled with the finished product. βThe best of the best ~ you know you are in for a treat when the decorating of the exterior of the barn is just as stunning and unique as the interior. This is an absolutely charming shop! There are three floors of beautiful, one-of-a-kind offerings in the barn from repurposed vintage furniture to candles, wooden signs, hand painted seasonal decor. The vision and imagination it takes to create/paint each piece of furniture requires a lot of talent ~ and you will not be disappointed. The owner is a very friendly, lovely lady who was working on new pieces when we arrived, the barn is exquisitely organized, and the prices are better than reasonable. This is a definite for revisiting ~ over and over again ~ it's worth the trip!β
