I just closed on my house today. I had spent the better part of a year searching for a house, and I worked with Hometown Mortgage throughout most of the process. I had shopped around for a few different Mortgage Brokers, however, upon contacting Lisa Laird and Hometown I immediately knew something was different about this company.Lisa and the entire staff at Hometown were very responsive and treated me like a priority through the entire process. I always heard horror stories about the mortgage process, however, my process with Hometown was painless.They get my strongest recommendation for anybody looking for a Mortgage broker.

If I could give zero stars I would. I was referred to this company by a distant family member. Initial interaction was great, was given good information and was told we would receive a call/email with an update. Nothing in over a month. I call for an update because as a first time home buyer, I have no idea how long these things take. No call back. If I were to do that in the industry I work in, I wouldn’t have a job. Even if there were issues with approvals, more information needed, etc. a courtesy call goes a long way. Instead, we were left hanging and now have to search frantically for another route to go…AFTER our credit was already ran. 0/10. ***UPDATE: after posting my negative review I received a phone call around 7:15pm from the company to “return my previous phone call. THEN a follow-up email. I don’t know what mortgage company calls people back after 7pm and also strange it happened after I wrote the bad review. Also, the owners response that they tried to reach out after the initial contact is blatantly false. They had my contact information enough to email me last night after the review, had my phone number AND my fiancées phone number as well. Do not put this on me and my lack of response, when the business has terrible communication until it is pushed directly in their face. I will NOT use a company that can’t admit to their fault.

Had trouble when looking for a new house with them. I wasn't approved for very much through them and every time I asked what any holdups were for I had to do something else. Told I needed 2000 in bank and when I did then I needed more in bank. Found a different mortgage company and had wonderful first house buying experience through the other guy
