I thought the school was really lovely and I thought it would be great for my child because of the Montessori approach. My son is 18months. We brought him in with us to take a tour met with cecila Ulmer. My child is a pandemic baby that has been home with me up until now. He does all the usual things of a 18 month old but he was turned away even though the school had space for him in nursery 2 because they want him to be more “independent” .. this is what I was told. Initially we did a tour, then met with the school director and then had to bring our child in to meet with the teacher in the classroom by himself. When he was brought back to us he was really upset and crying I’m not sure what happened or what they did to him but he would not cry for no reason especially surrounded by so many toys and new things to engage with. It was really disheartening to be turned away for such a trivial reason. When space was available at the school. How Independent can a 1 year old be? And he plays well with others and independently honestly.

Such a wonderful school. They have a very strong program, and best of all, the teachers are so loving and caring. My son is in Nursery 3 and he is thriving and he loves going to school.

My children have gone to HCA from pre-K thru 8th grade. I love the sense of community. The teachers and staff are wonderful to be around. They really take the time to get to know each and every family with such caring energy. The small class sizes and student to teacher ratio really helped each one of my children grow individually and not get lost. I am so grateful to find this gem in Drexel Hill where I live and so glad to be able to give my children this experience.

I feel so lucky to have found HCA for my two boys. Since starting there this year, they are enthusiastic about going to school each day. My sons are so stimulated by all the activities provided each day, including STEAM education in the innovation lab, Spanish, multiple phys ed classes each week, piano instruction, chess club, music class, and art class. My kindergartner loves to bring home his clay creations from the kiln, and my two-year-old especially loves the new Music Together program that is integrated into the nursery and PreK program. The Montessori methods used in the early childhood program have allowed both boys to achieve so much at their own pace. The teachers celebrate their individual achievements and the children learn to be proud of their classmates as well as themselves. I couldn't feel better about sending them to school. Holy Child is a place where each child is loved and is encouraged to grow in love for others.

My son is in 1st grade at Holy Child and has attended the school since he was 2. We love the curriculum, the staff and the community that is HCA. I love being in a smaller school. I feel like my son is getting a really diverse experience, currently in Chess Club and Children's Chorus. He has also done Track and other after school activities. We are really happy with our investment.

Our child has been at HCA since he was 2 years old in the Early Childhood Montessori program. He will start his 5th year this Fall. What an amazing place. The school community is truly a family and the value of the education he receives is unmatched. Our second child will start next year and we can't be more excited. If you are looking for a school, I encourage parents to stop by for a tour. Come and see for yourself!

HCA is an excellent school that I cannot praise enough. The faculty and staff are all nurturing and vigilant about the students in their care. My children are happy at HCA, making many friends and having wonderful experiences that don't focus just on academics. Children at this school learn to be caring and compassionate through service projects and community outreach. I would highly recommend this school to anyone wanting challenging academics intertwined with a social/emotional component missing in many schools.
