I have been using Modern Cleaners for years. Today I am extremely disappointed to say that I had recommended them to my elderly parents and they took some clothes to be hemmed. They were given a receipt for services , however, when then returned to pick up the clothes they were told there was a mistake and they actually owed $60 more than the receipt showed. My parents disagreed with the owners view that they owed an additional $60 as that was not what they had a receipt for but the owner told them she was still charging them the additional cost because “it” was a mistake. Long story short, my aging parents just paid so they could get their clothes back. My Mom called me very upset with what happened. I don’t blame her a bit. She was taken advantage of and a victim of very poor business practice. If you tell a customer a service has a cost and give them a receipt, that should be honored. I am extremely disappointed and will never take my business to them again. It’s something to think about when you drop off your clothes and expect to pick them up for the price given. My parents don’t have it in them to argue. This is shameful. I visited the store and spoke with owner about what happened and let her know that I would not be giving her my business again.

Tried this place out for the first time after learning it was fairly close to me and see some good reviews. While they did a good job with hemming my gown and cleaning a couple of other garments, I was blown away when I saw both the final price and the very visible safety pin holes at the top of my black 100% silk skirt and off white shorts. I was charged $85 for a very simple straight forward hem on a simple gown, and another $45 to take the spaghetti straps up an inch. Regarding the safety pin damage, it's less noticeable on the black skirt, but still pretty upsetting given the price paid for it, and the shorts are basically ruined. Pics below. Total cost of everything was a little over $140. While the staff is very nice, I don't think I'll be returning.

This business does quality work and items were ready on time. However, the unforgivable sin is...my husband dropped off several mens dress shirts to be cleaned and pressed. We noticed that on the inside of each of the shirts our last name was written in PERMANENT marker. NEVER in my life have I seen a dry cleaner write on clothing! I am so baffled as to why they don't use a tag system like EVERY other dry cleaner in America!!! I am utterly shocked that there are not hundreds of poor reviews about this establishment sighting this same complaint. If they change their article identification system to anything other than ruining clothing with permanent marker, I may consider going back because the quality of the work was actually very good.

I have had several alterations done here, including extensive work on a beaded gown, and they are just masters at their trade. Whatever I’ve brought in has always exceeded my expectations. They do exquisite work and always get it right. We also use their dry cleaning services regularly. I highly recommend them for whatever you need done!Service: Alterations

Despite a few mishaps, Modern Cleaners remains my dry cleaners and alterations place. Parking is right out front. It's around the corner from me. Obviously, convenience is important to me! But the one time they messed up, and it was a big one, they tried fixing the problem, and, when they couldn't, they gave me a credit in an amount way over the value of my item. Everybody makes mistakes. They are very friendly. They have a quick turnaround and will amp it up when you need something back urgently. The alterations are good. They redid an entire job for me at no charge, when the instructions were clearly my fault. I guess if they repeatedly messed up I'd go elsewhere. But, in my case, convenience and friendliness go a long way.
