I have been dealing with Pook & Pook for close to 20 years. I have done a very large amount of transactions with them during this time. Im my opinion hey are one of the best auction houses to deal with within the US.

An absolutely excellent place to do business with. I had the pleasure of working with Colleen on an outstanding invoice, and she was remarkably understanding throughout the process. I would not hesitate to do business with them, and do not understand the negative reviews for a storied, well-staffed auction house.

they almost got me. was looking at a watch collections listed for 100$ wondering why some had Coutelier and Rolex they then inflated them up to 1200 before the auction hoping people wouldnt look at the description and notice the price and if you read further down it does say likely a copy... trying to sell fake name brand items by way of deciving the consumer is a crime you cannot auction off fake rolex like this and say it might or might not be fake and selling counterfeit goods inflated like this is being reported.

I started collecting Americana about 3 years ago and deal with about 15-20 auction houses on a regular basis. My experience with Pook & Pook has been excellent, in fact they have become my go-to auction. Descriptions and photos are accurate. Questions are answered promptly and professionally. I started using their in-house shipping about a year ago. It is quick, competitively priced and items are well packed. On the rare occasions I need to speak with someone they are always helpful and maybe even charming and I'm from NYC so charming is not a word that forms easily in my mouth. Special thanks to Hannah.

A well run auction house having a very good selection of items and easy bidding options. Very good service. Excellent value. Their shipping department is exceptional. Items are very well packaged. I highly recommend them.

I cannot stress enough not to deal with these clowns, happy to see there are plenty others who feel the same. Poor descriptions, dishonest dealings, worst customer service. Just the worst. I also wish to note Pook's response to negative reviews are always the same, attack the reviewer with lies and falsehoods.

Had a wonderful experience with Pook & Pook. The table I bought is absolutely superb and the small chest of drawers exceeded my expectations. The staff I interacted with when I picked up my items could not have been nicer and we’re so knowledgeable. Thank you I will definitely work with you again.

I am extremely confused by these negative reviews. Pook and Pook has been a staple in the American antiques space for decades. I have bid with them many times, and everything has always been fine. They are always willing to answer questions, and the pieces they sell are high-quality. I have personally never had an experience with them that was anything less than professional. People need to do their homework on BP and shipping prior to bidding. They sell furniture and delicate items - of course shipping is going to be expensive. Keep all of that in mind before you bid and factor it in. Your lack of planning is not the auction house's fault. Very thankful to have this amazing auction house with fantastic experts in my backyard. Do not hesitate to bid with Pook and Pook, amazing items and professional service. Treat others with respect and honestly and you will get the same in return :-).

I've been reading through the various reviews, and I wonder whether some of them are talking about the same Pook & Pook I know. I've dealt numerous times with them both as a buyer and seller, and I've found them to be one of the very best. I've been doing this for over forty years, and I've dealt with virtually all of them, including the NYC ones. I've always found P & P to be helpful, honest, and altogether excellent.

I was wondering when my gun was going to ship. A month went by then i spotted a msg in my 13,000 plus messages that said i still needed to pay my get this.. 89 DOLLAR shipping ! My message to them did they see we now have telephones? A month went by for no reason. THEY HAD MY CREDIT CARD THAT PAID FOR THE GUN. What a waste of time.

Pook and Pook held an auction in Nov 2022. two rugs that I purchased for a total of $1297 WERE NOT what they were described to be- aka, NAVAJO Indian rugs". I was asked to pay shipping to return the rugs. Pook admitted that they were not Navajo woven rugs. They said return shipping was my cost because it "was in the contract". How unfortunate. Not only did I pay for the frauds to be shipped to me, but also to be returned to them. Their curator made a big mistake. I will NOT be a future customer off Pook's, under any circumstances.
