If I could give zero stars, I would! Our dog was only 6 years old and wasn’t feeling good. My husband took him to be seen by his vet, this vet at Delmont Veterinary Hospital! They gave him some medicine, took some tests and sent him home. Still didn’t feel good so took back and asked if a dog could have a bladder infection as I think he is bleeding in his urine?! The vet ran with that and gave him some fluids and a shot of antibiotics. Vet said he should be better in a couple of hours. If not better by 5pm call them back. By 3pm still not eating so we couldn’t give him his medicine, husband called back. Woman said we really need to give him 24 hours to give time for the shot to help. This morning (3 1/2 days without eating at all or drinking much) my husband demanded they see our dog. After keeping him they called us and said we would need to take him to the emergency vet hospital. The vet there called us later to say our dog was septic…Long story short my dog didn’t make it. He had to be put down. Our vet at Delmont Veterinary Hospital failed at diagnosing and treating our dog. We had put our trust in this vet, as our dog was already an established patient there, to diagnose, treat and make our dog well again! Someone else posted that Delmont Veterinary Hospital needs to be investigated and I agree with their opinion! Our dog was healthy just like this person’s dog and now both of our dogs are gone! I wouldn’t take another animal here and because of this vet, placing our trust in them and having to put our dog down because of them, we will never own another animal again! Thanks for that Delmont Veterinary Hospital! They are the worst vets we have ever dealt with. If you love your pets don’t come here. I will make sure to tell everyone I know including social media about our experience!

Not all things can be treated holistically! Also, veterinarians who specialize in repo play a very important role in assuring that people are not 'backyard breeding' but breeding responsibly.

Absolutely love this place. They are so caring and accommodating!!! They always squeeze my dogs in when there is an emergency. More than just a vet... they get to know your pets personality and quirks. They treat you more like family than patients. I would recommend them to anyone!

Bad experience with this vet. My dog was only 5 years old and wasn’t feeling good. My brother-in-laws daughter took him to be seen. They gave him a shot and sent him home. Still didn’t feel good so took him to the Emergency Veterinary in Washington, Pa. Long story short my dog didn’t make it. My sister took her dog here and they sent her to have unnecessary costly tests done and everything came back negative.

I have had great experiences at this vet office. My cat has had thyroid problems for years and was slowly getting worse. Dr. Harr checked and found he had high blood pressure as well. Medication has helped so much that we have been able to get a handle on the other issues. No other vet had checked it in 3 previous years! Very thorough and great people!

Dr. Shelton is AMAZING! The whole staff are so great and kind. I just love them all. I would trust them with any animal of mine. I will never go to another veterinary place. This is my forever home for my furry family. Thank you so much from the bottom of my heart Delmont Veterinary Clinic

My regular vet is useless. ( just use him for yearly shots) If pets have emergencies I go straight here every time. They take care of us and our fur babies!

I read the horrible review that the other person wrote. It is sad someone would try to hurt a great vet's reputation and mislead people hunting for an excellent vet. I have known Dr. Harr for 25 plus years. I have been a top breeder for over 25 years and I am in the medical field also. I wrote and had a medical paper published which helped hundreds of dogs which I am very proud of. Dr. Harr saved one of my female dog's life with a blood transfusion from my male at 2 AM in the morning after she started bleeding out right after having a litter of puppies. She saved all 8 puppies plus my female with emergency surgery. She held and petted my dog talking to her softly as she came through the operation and transfusion. She is amazing. She studied under the top breeding specialist in the US. I come from South Carolina just for her expertise. Shelter dogs and puppies are made up of people who have no clue how much commitment it takes to breed and have a litter correctly and stand by your puppies your produce. They actually need a class in breeding dogs with prenatal and postnatal care. Dr. Harr should think of teaching a class for people who are serious about breeding properly. Who made that person an authority on socialization? I also work with a specialist who has a degree in dog behavior and she agrees that statement was not true and just opinions of a person probably without any creditials in dog behavior and written to hurt Dr. Harr's reputation for some reason?. I know her dogs personally and her dogs all are socialized and loved very much. Everything on the website is true, she does all types of special care and more. This is something special I feel you should know if you have to put your dog down and you are afraid like I was. Dr Harr put my dog to sleep so peacefully with love, she gave me time to love my dog and hold him while he are going to sleep, it was so peaceful that I did not even know when he was gone . That is one big reason I go to her. I feel God made her a guardian angle for sick dogs on earth. I am proud to know her and have her care for my dogs. I would go nowhere else.
