Love this place. It's so nice having a hardware store .2 miles away. Don't mind paying higher prices for supporting locally. Adds to convenience and takes away from the cost of gas to the bigger stores.

This mini excavator we rented was a piece of junk the cylinder for the boom was bent it didn't idle right. We were just removing a stump and the cylinder broke. Well the hardware store wants to blame us for there faulty equipment. The owner came to my house and wanted to talk to my parents not me I'm 40 years old I rented it for my business. Hornungs true value is terrible. The owner said we caused $15000.00 in damage. I looked it up A Brand new cylinder is $715.00 should be like 1500 to replace with labor. They have the absolute worst customer service. Each hornungs true value has different prices for the same stuff. Go anywhere else but hornungs.

I advise you to pass on this location if you need anything to be special ordered. I came in looking for a basic lawnmower. No bag, with a side grass chute. They didn't have one in stock. Has to be ordered from another location. I supplied my contact info. This was a Friday. Called the following Monday. Still wasn't ordered. Here it is a week later, still no phone call. Keep in mind that all their locations are within 15 to 20 miles from each other. Their customer service was horrible 20 years ago and it appears that noth has changed. If you want basic tools they're fine, just don't special order anything and expect a prompt response.
