“I happened to be in the area of the 3400 block of Sansom Street today in West Philadelphia and a familiar sign caught my eye from 22 years ago; Avril 50. Avril 50 was a regular stop in my patrol days and I loved walking into the shop. Always the wonderful aroma of brewing coffees and chocolate dancing with other exotic smells and the smells of fine papers and magazines. It always felt to me like stepping from West Philadelphia into a magical pocket of Europe. As it looked exactly the same, I wondered if anything had changed in the past 22 years and as soon as I crossed the threshold, I found that it was the same - like stepping back 22 years, yet somehow I was that much older. The proprietor was still there, still the same and looking no different - something that confirmed my belief that this was a magical and wonderful pocket paradise tucked away on a small West Philadelphia street. A brief catch-up chat, a shopping bag of fine teas and a perfectly brewed double-espresso to takeaway later; I stepped back into the bright Fall sun of West Philadelphia. I found myself smiling as I sipped the espresso, happy that one of the best things for me in that neighborhood has remained unchanged for others to enjoy and to continue to discover. It will not be another 22 years before I make my way back - that is for certain.”

“THIS PLACE IS ABSOLUTELY THE BEST!!I live in upstate NY and unfortunately I have someone in a recovery facility about 10 miles away from this Shoppe. I needed to somehow get some vapes to my loved one as they’re no longer allowed to be shipped via any source. I called and without hesitation was assured by an incredible man named Setty who said that he would help me and also deliver it to the facility immediately. I have got to say this man went above and beyond for me without anything but positive and heartfelt feeling for my situation. “Me and Harry's go way back but I hadn't been there in a while. The "new" location definitely works! The selection is still top notch and the service excellent. The upstairs lounge is more than worth the basically 2 cigar minimum purchase (technically a $25 minimum cigar purchase regardless of how many cigars). Comfortable chairs, nice electric fireplace, beverages and BYO and the Game is typically on one of the two TV's which aren't super loud - it's nice to actually have a conversation or a quiet smoke.Speaking of a good smoke, the ventilation is excellent, which means you not only have comfort but get to truly enjoy "your" cigar. That selection I mentioned is a very good one. The humidor is very well stocked and covers every palate from the newbie to the true connoisseur.I'm biased but speaking as objectively as possible, it's one of the best little cigar shops in the US.”

“Just visited Philly for the first time a month ago. Cappelli Brothers is one of the most laid back cigar spots that I been to outside of Florida. It has a cozy, chilled laid-back vibe and the employees are awesome. No pretentiousness about the vibe here at all. Jared and Jim made me feel welcome from the moment that I walked in there. “They come through super clutch every time I've ever used them. I recently started using puffco products, and my atomizer broke. I knew they sold puffco rigs, but did not think they had all the accessories you need as well, and they were fully stocked!! I thought for sure it would have been more money to buy the puffco there than ordering online, but I highly regret not using them as they offer the same price as puffco and stand by their products! As a local, this is hugee!! Instead of waiting until the wknd to use my peak again, it's back in action better than ever with a new atomizer and dish at the best price possible. “This place is the best. Every time I go in, their employee gives me the run down on any new vape that he thinks I may like and will usually give me a discount on any vape I try that is new or different from my usual purchase. Usually if they introduce me to a new product that is more than I expected to spend and I only have exact change for what I originally intended to buy they will usually let me slide on a few bucks here and there. This is the only place that I will buy vapes, I've never had trouble with any vape I've purchased from them.”
“I am disabled and use a wheelchair, when Sam sees me coming, he comes right to the door and opens it for me, he is such a nice person. He always has what I need and if I have any questions about rolling my own cigarettes he knows all the answers. And in bad weather I cannot take the buses with my wheelchair so I call ahead and order what I need and I have my friend pick everything up for me. Sam always has everything ready and once he even stayed open late to wait for my friend to pick my bag up. “So was told by a good friend to visit Ms Heather at Tooties. I wanted a breakfast sandwich (it was 830am) and was told that they are in process of renovating. No problem I ordered a Turkey Hoagie instead. What a great sandwich!! Being in the business of cooking for 43+ yrs it's easy to pick a simple hoagie apart. Not hereRoll was perfect lettuce ratio was on point (hate it when a sandwich has a salad in middle) and to top it all off...RED onion!!No hoagie should have anything but RED onion. “I recently ordered cigars from Holt’s. I live in a couple of different states, so I use a couple different addresses. When I ordered I messed up the delivery address. I combined the address and the wrong zip code. Obviously my error. UPS, naturally confused, returned the order to Holt’s.The tracking said it was being returned. So I called Holt’s customer service. At first they were confused also. But, being the customer oriented organization that they are, said; “not to worry, we will reship and get them to you tomorrow”. I apologize, I did not note the representative’s name that I talked to. She gets 10 stars, on a 1-5 star rating.After that conversation, they called me back and kindly and without judgement, explained that after further analysis, they discovered the address error. Yep, I’m embarrassed, but their approach was non accusatory and they went out of the way to cover for my mistake.”
