Today I went to buy a slushie, Old English Beer, and two bags of chips. An older Caucasian woman rung me up. I come there quite often and normally either the Asian woman will ring me up or the Asian man. In any case, my total came up to $10. When I gave her my $10 bill she said it was fake. Her exact words were "you can tell by how it feels". When in actuality you can also check by seeing a reflection of the bill as well. I went to several places and asked them if this $10 bill was real and MULTIPLE people told me the same thing: it is real. I think the cashier assumed it was fake because it was folded up and it feels a bit thin OR race had something to do with it. There's an assumption that people of color either have bad money or bad debit/credit cards. Either way, I won't be coming back. As an employer, you should be able to know if money is real or not. I won't come back.
