I had a checking account for years here. And then eventually, a mortgage.
Worst decision ever. They rack up fees whenever they can however they can.
I actually got sick of it, so I closed my checking account. Then I got a bill for $500. They said that I received a $500 credit to my mortgage for having a checking account, and when I closed it $500 came due immediately. Not to mention the hundreds of dollars in overdrafts that I got when I was laid off. Then when I was back working, I tried to cut a deal with the fees. They knocked off some, but claimed that they could only delete a few.
So I paid a couple hundred bucks and closed my account. Good riddance.
So now that I don’t have a checking account, I have no way to pay my mortgage unless I stop at a branch and pay it with check or cash. It’s silly! This is 2024, and they don’t have a way to pay my mortgage online unless I use Zelle. No CC, debit card, EFT, or any money apps are accepted. Instead, I pay a $10 fee to process the payment over the phone, cuz I work 10s and can never make it to the bank during their hours.
I’m just terribly unhappy with their whole approach to banking and customer service. Go anywhere else for a checking account. You’ll thank me later. 0 stars if it were an option.

BANK OF THE LONG LONG PASTWe got home equity loan from Dollar Bank. I registered online for the loan account and wanted to setup auto payment from my PNC bank account. Guess what? I cannot do it online. I had to go to branch. Yes hard to believe but I had to go to branch for that. When I went to the branch, guess what they said? They said I should setup payments from my PNC online site. Anyway, I insisted on doing through Dollar Bank, then they gave me a paper form to fill in, and I gave a void check to the representative. Two weeks later, I received a letter saying that my automatic payment request cannot be done because I didn't provide a void check! So backward.

They sold my personal information after helping us with a Covid relief for our business. Now I get 20+ calls and text messages a day from people trying to sell us business loan scams. Pretty grimy of them, especially because we still have our account with them.

Bank reversed a check I deposited through their app. Said it was excepted. Thought it was all good they reversed it because of a bad image 5 days after. Not my that happened, I don't have the check. Told me to call customer service. Almost an hour wait. Who has time to wait 57 minutes? I'm disabled and on a very tight budget so that 95.00 dollars means I I have to buy cheaper food items which are not good for an insulin dependent diabetic with neuropathy. Plus several other medical and mental health issues

I would like nothing more than to switch all of my banking over to Dollar Bank. But if their HELOC approval process is anything like the rest of their banking it's not worth my time or effort. The application process at this Bank was easy enough but when the appraisal came in less than what I purchased my home for (a month prior) that should have been my first sign. And then the fine print that you need to keep a checking account open with a minimum balance of $2,500. Annoying, but fine. Over the last year honestly it's been fine as I've had no interaction with the bank but their website user interface is absolutely horrid. I stopped in today to get some additional checks (as they told me to do when I signed up) and they tell me "You have to do it yourself via the customer service line."... There were about 6 people working with no customers, and I asked if they could order for me and got a rather curt "No" in response. I've always heard good things about Dollar Bank and their great rates and local feel, but they haven't done anything to win the rest of my business.

We had an account here when we moved and didn’t close as we come back frequently but also wasn’t using. The bank began charging a monthly fee for inactivity, which is fine as a policy but made 0 attempts to contact us and let us know. We liked this location in the past but more recently the service has gone way down and then this last issue of a few hundred dollars in fees with no notification. Just disappointing compared to other more customer focused banks. I would recommend FNB over this bank if you are looking.
