Tom Hermansader is such a great guy & probably one of the most underrated artists in tri-county region. I have alot of his prints.

Wow - an amazing, exquisite B&B that is a must for anyone looking for a quality lodging. You get to meet the artist and host who makes you feel like you’ve known him all your life. His artwork and stories are priceless!

Stayed two nights in the Van Gogh room and had a wonderful time. Would recommend the experience to anyone visiting Lancaster PA. The home is lovely and appointed with Tom's wonderful artwork--it's like a private museum of Lancaster's landscapes and architecture and has the charm of its enduring backroads, small towns and cityscapes. Tom was a gracious host and made me feel welcome and at home. All in all a great experience.

We spent two nights here this past weekend, and really enjoyed our stay! Columbia is a great location for exploring Lancaster County (right next door), and Gettysburg (about an hour away). The B&B was built in 1890, and artist Tom Hermansader has owned it for the past 30 years. He's taken amazing care of the place - the woodwork, the period furniture - and the beautiful art (most of it his own), really adds to the charm. Tom prepared really nice breakfasts both mornings - french toast and bacon with fresh yogurt/berries the first morning, and fresh berries with ham/cheese crepes and potatoes the next. The dining room where breakfast is held is gorgeous - and full of Tom's artwork. We've stayed in B&Bs in various countries (in particular the UK), but Tom's had the most character. I look forward to returning, and referring other people to stay here when in the area!

When looking for a place to stay near Gettysburg, the mansion just jumped off the page, and it did the same in real life. What a stunningly beautiful home, and the host Tom could not have been more gracious. We needed to change the dates for our stay, and he didn't blink. He has tended to this Victorian mansion with great love and care. There is art everywhere--much of it his-- and if you're looking for a trip back to the 19th Century, look no further. Children under the age of 11 are not allowed with good reason--it would seem every piece of furniture belongs in the Smithsonian. For the practical traveler, the hot water was hot, the bed was super-comfortable, and the sheets were top notch and extremely well-made. Breakfast was yummy both mornings, and Tom is a terrific raconteur. All in all, a mesmerizing experience.
