Booked a tee time for $39.00 in late March. When I got to the course they charged me $65.00 and when I asked about the discrepancy they brushed it off and said that it was wrong on the website. Despite entering a phone number and email, there was no contact to let me know that they would charge me almost double. A pretty cheap move for them to have people drive 30 minutes and not say anything till you show up. Paying 65 dollars, I would expect the course to be in alright condition, but the greens rolled pretty poorly and pace of play was a struggle.

Played the Melrose for first time today. All my regular public courses were closed due to heavy rain the day before so drive 30 minutes down to Cheltenham. What a fantastic course tucked into the natural environment so close to Philly. I was ripping driver 220-30 most of the times and felt that the trouble was manageable for my 15 handi. Love the old growth trees everywhere and the course had my attention for the fast sub 4 hour round. Huge bang for the buck in my book and I want this place again soon.

Great course, last Mackenzie course designed before Augusta national ! The tee boxes needed a tiny bit of work( also in part to people not fixing their divots ) other than that I had a great experience! The course will challenge you. But also good for a mid to high handicapper. Will be back very soon, cart girl was on point here! Seen her quite a couple times.

This apparently was MacKenzie's last design before he went on to design Augusta, so that is cool and the bones are still there. But, if you like hitting off sandy tee boxes, and crab grass from around the fairways, with overgrown trees, then this is the place for you! When I called to see if they allowed walking I was greeted by, 'Yeah, what's up?' so this is the furthest thing from a country club. Enjoy if you've never been. Better played out of season so you don't have to pay more than it's worth.

Played here for the first time and will not be returning. The tee boxes were sandy and the sand traps were filled with rocks. We had to chase geese off the greens and there was also geese poop everywhere. The group in front of us drove their carts directly across the green and reshot multiple times while we were waiting to tee off. Poor management and not worth the money.

Show some respect to this course. Nice greens, nice ? ?, good Tee boxes, poor sand pits, nice fairways, good pace, good prices, overall enjoy coming back here multiple times a year.

Place has gotten progressively worse after ownership change. It's such a shame given that it's a great design and layout. What used to be a good test of golf when the course was maintained properly is now a sloppy mess. Don't waste your time or money here.

Course was in great shape today. Hidden gem for its location. The recent reviews from 2 months ago complaining about conditions were in a month long draught… no rain for almost a month and a half. Course has recovered since then

Played a month ago. Greens were complete trash and fairways weren't well maintained on many holes. For the price, felt like a rip off.

Really enjoy this course and was happy to play again when they reopened for the year. The fairways were ok...but that was it. The tee boxes were in really rough shape. The green were worse. No reason there should be wedge divots on the greens. They weren't fresh either. I went on the 6th day they were open for the 2023 season. If you're closed all winter there's no reason why the course shouldn't be in tip-top shape before you open. Especially with the extremely mild winter we've had. Played on multiple course that are half the price ($50 during april) that have stayed in better shape over the "off-season". Hopefully they fix the place up as it gets warmer, but honestly I probably won't come back to check with so many better maintained courses in the area.EDIT: Played today 4/21. May have gotten worse. If you landed your approach on the green it ran about 20ft off. And the teeboxes were rough. Also it's a Friday in late April. It's 80 degrees. Full teesheet. No beverage cart. No bar. No food.

This is my first ever review so this means something when we were driving to the golf course we hit a rock and got a flat once our round was over the associates helped us changed our tire out they basically did all the work because our equipment was cheap and it just wasn’t working they didn’t need to help us at all but they did. The course was beautiful and we had an awesome time. We didn’t get the names but thank you and thank you Melrose Country Club for everything you guys did

Paid full price to putt on sandy greens all day. Every time I hit the fairway I was in a divot. Tee boxes were like hitting from the rough.

Been coming here for decades. Bill, the GM, has been doing an amazing job. Course conditions and his team are best it’s ever been. I lost my phone on the course and got a call 3 days later that they found it. I commend Bill and his team for their honesty. Big shout out to the grounds keeping team as well.

The course is completely dead. Play back in June and was in 3 star condition then. Fairways are non existent and like hitting of concrete. Impossible to take divots. Sad because I used to love this little course but I will never bed back, its too far gone.

Greens were ok but the rest of the course was more or less dead or hard as a rock. Middle of the fairway was essentially concrete in many areas. Irrigation coverage seems poor at best. Signage could be improved as we got mixed up on a couple holes. This course has potential, but today it was rough.
