I have been doing business with Jim for several years. He has a great shop and is very knowledgeable. Best FFL transfer prices around. Yes, Jim is a crotchety old man and doesn't suffer fools. If you are a thin skinned little Nancy, you might get your feelings hurt.

I've been here twice.
My first visit, with the owner working behind the counter, was a five-star experience. He clearly had a great sense of humor, and seemed incredibly knowledgeable about everything black powder-related. I learned a lot just listening to his conversation with another customer and was more than happy to have given him my business.
Unfortunately, when I came back a month later, the owner wasn't there, and the only person behind the counter was a short older man with a beard. As another reviewer said: "complete jerk, no reason." 100% disrespectful without any explanation. He literally threw my credit card at me after I'd finished making my payment, lol.
I'd like to give this business a five-star review, but my second visit was so unpleasant that I won't be coming back.

Took my flintlock in to have the trigger set lightened.First off, took 4 weeks instead of the 2 weeks I was told.I called after 3 weeks and the man who answered wasrude as hell.Then, gun finally 'fixed' a week later, but still a darn hardpull, plus the cost was over twice what I was originally given.They won't get my or anyone I know who asks businessagain. And that's just how it is.

First timer for flintlock, went there last Saturday. Gentlemen was great and just made me more excited to shoot my flintlock. Going to Erie to fish with my uncle and shoot the flintlock for the first time. I'm excited.

Best blackpowder shop I’ve been to! I went in there and Jack helped me get everything I needed. They have an excellent selection of supplies for your muzzleloader, also a wide variety of blackpowder guns. Great people, great place.

Large selection of black powder stuff, usually have everything needed in stock which is refreshing. 3 stars because everytime I’ve gone in there the two people behind the counter were kind of jerks to people in there and even gave me attitude when they ran my card and said it didn’t go through and it did on my end and it was a button they forgot to push. Don’t really need the attitude.Black powder is usually in stock but I have found it’s about $10 more than most other places a pound.

My dear people I've been into black powder all my life and I am very experienced a some what an expert in the field,but if there is ever a place and owner that knows more than many including myself it is Jim and Fort Chambers!! I also trust the place and man to the fullest! I know he is blessed but God bless him and Fort chambers anyway

Jim and Jack are awesome. My son and I wanted to build a flintlock but didn’t know how to start. These men are a plethora of information and helped me gather everything we needed. Thanks for everything when I get back to Texas I will call for more information.

Being from California it’s becoming increasingly hard to find any black powder supplies at all, so when visiting relatives near here I had to check it out and was not disappointed. They even had percussion caps, which are becoming like gold these days. Recommended.

This is a superb little shop (although it's not that little inside) and he is very knowledgeable! He helped me out getting everything I needed to start out when I got a flintlock from him and was super nice.
