horrible customer service….we booked 2 rooms for our daughter’s graduation almost 2 years in advance and just received an email that we were bumped out of both rooms and they are all booked up stating we were only on a ‘waiting list’. why would i book 2 rooms on a waiting list? they were already booked up…and just booked us as a backup but lied to us….now everything is booked…what a pathetic place!….save your time and money and stay away! Zero Stars!!!

We've been going to the Carlisle House B&B annually since 2011. The owners Tim & Carolyn Carlisle have become more than just great hosts, they have become friends.
The rooms are always spotless and clean, each room is unique, with their own charm. The breakfasts are amazing! Tim and Carolyn create a different quiche each morning, and they are delicious.
We stay at the Carlisle House because we are here for the All Ford Nationals with the owners Carolyn (Tim). We have also made friends with some of the other patrons who are here annually for the Ford show. It is a great place to stay. We look forward to returning to the Carlisle House each year.
We highly recommend The Carlisle House B & B.
Rooms: Beautifully decorated rooms done to complement the houses architecture. Incorporating luxury, and useful technology in each room.
Nearby activities: Carlisle Fairgrounds with the summer schedule of themed car shows and many other events in the area.
Safety: The Carlisle House is secured with a pass coded lock at the guest entrance and each room has its own door locks.
Walkability: A very safe and comfortable town to walk about. With many nearby shops, bars and restaurants to choose from.
Food & drinks: The Carlisle House is known for, and specializes in its famous Quiche, of which they have twenty six different recipes. They also provide you with fresh fruit and home made baked goods accompanied with coffee or tea and fresh juice. A really superb breakfast. ??

Nice, quiet, clean room in a beautiful historic house. Breakfast was great if not a bit small, but I’ll take quality over quantity any day. Good service and nice people too. Overall a very pleasant experience. Would recommend!

The quintessential, genuine historic bed & breakfast experience. A stunning 200 year old house, fresh breakfast made on premises, super nice owners, and the place was spotless (my wife and I tend to be picky on that point and we were impressed).
Modern amenities in the bathroom (the shower was great!), the room was nice & warm (we had some cold weather this March), and the location can’t be beat.
We stayed in the Rose room which was amazing: high ceilings, big windows, a grand feel. Helpful tip: when going to bed, close the bottom half of the interior shutters (SO cool, just be careful with them as they’re original 1826 features), then use the great blinds they have to get the room dark. If you need it darker, just use the top half of the interior shutters.
If we find ourselves in Carlisle again, THIS is where we’ll stay! Highly recommended.
Rooms: Beautiful rooms, and each is unique in appointments, layout, and view. Bathrooms feel modern, and everything else is straight out of the 1820s when the house was built (I mean that in the best of ways).
Safety: Felt totally safe here. The front door is locked, parking area is well lit, a code is needed to get inside the building, and another to get into your room. Common areas inside and out are well lit, and an extra physical lock can be used to keep your room closed.
Walkability: Extremely walkable: sidewalks directly outside, and easy walking distance to everything in downtown Carlisle.

They were able to give us a last minute accommodation due to a family emergency. The room was beautiful and the whirlpool tub was excellent. The location in downtown is close to lots of coffee shops and restaurants and the breakfast was delicious. The folks there were nice and friendly and I would highly recommend this place for everyone to stay.

I LOOOOOVE Carlisle House! I was looking for a locally owned place to stay on my drive down from Canada to see my Mom in Asheville, NC. This place looked wonderful so I booked a room both going down and driving back. I loved everything about this place - from the owner to the rooms to the parking area (secure and private), and beyond. I didn't have time to linger much so look forward to going back sometime soon. Thank you so very much!

Amazing B&B. Convenient location, close to major freeways yet tucked into a sweet downtown. Cozy vibes (but spacious rooms) with high quality amenities (from the soap to the fact it has an EV and Tesla charger) and amazing breakfast. The quiche is a MUST. I don’t say this lightly, and I was skeptical at first when I saw the promos for the quiche (because I’m kinda picky and judgey with food). Seriously, even jet lagged, I woke up every morning to eat quiche. I personally think that what can make a B&B as enjoyable of an experience as a luxury hotel is the hospitality from the folks running it. And the folks here are such lovely people.

We spent our first night with The Carlisle House this past few weekends ago. My wife and I had an opportunity to see a concert at a nearby venue. The the concert being held in the evening and we would be traveling some distance to attend. We elected to find accommodations for the evening spend the night. Accommodations locally at the concert venue were limited or were what we felt over priced at the time we attempted to book.We arrived a few minutes early and reached out to our hosts per their protocol. Once we connected with our host (less than a few minutes), we were greeted instantly. We were instructed how to park off street parking, given the lay of the land with the local businesses, given immediate access to the building and the room. The room is well appointed and comfortable, (especially the bed). During our stay, 10 other guests were in The Bed and Breakfast. A recommended quiet time was asked to be observed. The Bed and Breakfast was especially quiet during those requested times.Time of breakfast was asked by Hosts 0800 or 0900. Breakfast was on time or a bit early for those wanting some coffee a bit earlier than announced breakfast. Breakfast was hardy, filling, and excellent. Portions were generous and probably more than we could eat. We also observed special dietary needs being graciously observed.During breakfast, we had opportunity to interact with those whom were staying with the Bed and Breakfast. We found that the other two parties are returning guest and had nothing but good things to say about the Bed and Breakfast and Staff(each and every time they stay). The hosts also interacted with the guests and insured the they had positive experiences with the Bed and Breakfast, as well as the greater surrounding Carlisle area. And. they made suggestions how to make the next stay a better experience. Finally, would we return and stay? ----Yes! We both are looking forward for an opportunity to explore Carlisle PA and spend some there in Carlisle, and the greater area (including local restaurants and the food scene locally). And, Yest! would stary again at The Carlisle House. We both had a positive experience at The Carlisle House. Looking forward for the next stay and checking out Carlisle!

Carlisle House is not only a great place to stay, the Hosts are awesome! Clean rooms, great showers & the blueberry muffins at breakfast are Incredible! We've had the privilege of staying at Carlisle House on three different occasions & Carolyn is so accommodating! We love her southern charm & friendly, welcoming smile! You won't go wrong here, not to mention several delicious restaurants within just a few blocks. Definitely on our short list of favorite B&Bs.
