I got married here in May 2024 and cannot say enough good things about the staff and facilities at Canadensis. While this is a wedding review, after getting to know Matt and the team at camp I would recommend everyone to send their kids here. You are in good hands!
Facility rental/wedding review:
My fiancé and I searched for over a year and a half down the entire east coast looking for summer camps to host our wedding. We almost ditched the idea entirely when I stumbled upon Camp Canadensis on Google maps. I sent an inquiry which Matt responded to very quickly. The cabins are clean and have private bathrooms and showers, there are a number of private rooms for older guests, and you can drive right up to the cabins to unload your belongings before parking (this was the only camp we saw out of ~10 where this was an option). It’s also all-inclusive with lodging, food and activities. We were told that staff would be there to assist us all weekend and they delivered on this promise from the moment we arrived until the moment we pulled away, helping us unpack decor, the bar, and being there to help with everything we needed for the weekend. They sprung into action as a group was there prior to us and cleaned the cabins we were using before any of our guests arrived. All of the staff were incredibly kind and helpful throughout the weekend, and you can tell how happy they were to be there. The food was excellent and the hospitality team helped us set the entire reception up, which I wasn’t expecting for a DIY venue (it looked even more beautiful than I had imagined). We had family extremely weary of staying at a camp, and I have heard nothing but positive stories from all who attended. I can go on and on about this place, but you just have to see it for yourself. Rent it for a major event, send your kids here, you won’t be disappointed!

Campers and counselors came into my store In crossgates mall and were absolutely disrespectful and insufferable. Counselor in a white tee shirt today complained about the price of a lighter because he wanted to "light candles with his campers later".

The amount of verbal abuse and bullying by kids to staff is absolutely unacceptable. Kids making remarks and comparing counselors looks to horses. Then when counselors complain noting is done. Upper staff tries to guilt them and say you are failing your campers is no better then the bullying by the children. I would not recommend this as a summer job to anyone.-parent of a counselor

It’s been a long while since I been there but it was great staying there for a night. Foam pit was like the best and the worst was the hike but the sights were nice.

Summer means nothing to me without Camp Canadensis. I was lucky enough to have been a camper here for 8 summers and I loved it so much that I have spent the past 3 summers as a staff member, and honestly, I wish it was something I could do for the rest of my life. If you have the opportunity to be a camper or staff member here, take it. At Canadensis, we really are a family and there's no place quite like this one!

I can't think of summer without thinking of Canadensis. I loved being a camper that I returned as a staff member as soon as I could. Over 3+ summers as a staff member and 7 as a camper I have formed close relationships with people all over the world, as well as learned how to work with others.

The most incredible place that changed my life. If you’re considering sending your kids here or working here I couldn’t recommend it enough. Just a world you want to be apart of!

I have worked at Canadensis for 3 years and it is not only a meaningful experience that is offered to the campers but also an amazing place to work for staff.

The elementary kids I work with love this camp. Every summer we rent a few cabins to get away from the city. They love the food. The staff is friendly. There are some newly renovated cabins, but overall the cabins are decent. The activities are fun and everyone love the pool and campfire.
