Clueless, unprofessional and inconsistent. All the associates are so inexperienced they all have to wait on one associate that supposedly knows what they are doing.

This office filed the taxes for a Supplemental Needs Trust incorrectly, which nearly resulted in the loss of government benefits for a disabled person, including his Medicaid, on which he is dependent for his very life.As trustee, I opened a case with H&R Block on August 2, 2022, and was told that a full refund of the fees for preparing the taxes would be given for both years that they filed the taxes incorrectly (tax year 2019 at a different office, and tax year 2020 at this office). It's been almost seven weeks, and I haven't yet received anything from them. I've called a local number two times and been told that someone would get back to me, but even that much hasn't happened. So I've now had to open a SECOND case, one day shy of seven weeks later, to find out where the refund for the fees is (a total of $940.00).Straightening this mess out has required the assistance of an attorney specializing in taxes, and a *competent* tax preparer -- a non-stop nightmare that still hasn't been resolved, and you absolutely do not want to find yourself in this same position with your own taxes, believe me. If I could give this office minus one thousand stars, I would.Edited to add: The response from H&R Block below my review, to me, is absolutely meaningless. I would suggest paying no attention to it. How are they so quick to respond to a negative review, when they don't even have the time to return phone calls? They butchered the taxes for the trust beyond recognition, clearly had no idea at all what they were doing, and they want me to allow them to correct it? I'd have to be a fool. They need to just refund my money already, as they promised they would, seven weeks ago.

I feel secure and confident in all associates that I have experienced with this company. I have never had any issues and always get my refund in a timely manner. The associates are always so friendly and very helpful with any questions or concerns. I have always had a great experience with H&R Block!

We weren't given our usual tax pro that I specifically made an appointment with. When my wife arrived, she was given to a new employee. And when she asked why weren't having our taxes done by Amanda there was no reason given. Amanda came in after my wife's appointment was completed and assisted my wife in completing our taxes as far as signatures and printing out the return because the new employee for some reason had to email my taxes to me for me to complete at home for signatures. I always go into the office to sign my paperwork. I pay an outrageous amount to have my taxes done in Office/In-person for a reason. If I wanted to do my taxes at home online myself I would save alot of money. But I trust the professionals like Amanda, but not anyone else in the offices in Butler.
