I have just spent about 15 minutes or more on the phone trying to find a new PCP. The scheduler on the phone (I think her name was Andrea or Adrian) was professional, super nice, patient and very helpful. She helped me pick a PCP that was accepting new patients and one that wasn't book out until next year. Thanks for your assistance.

I’ve been a patient for a few years now and have had a good experience. They’re always able to fit me in with someone when something urgent comes up. My pcp (and the residents I’ve seen) have all always been respectful and non judgmental.

This place is awful, last time I went I had severe anxiety and then referred me to a rehab outpatient. The last 6 times I’ve been here it’s been a different doctor every time. The residents are your original doctors then they go to the supervisor to ask for the diagnosis. I’m still struggling because of this place. Don’t go here

This practice was recommended to me when I moved to the area and my first annual visit or two seemed fairly normal, but after recent events, I will never return to this practice. At my physical last year when I asked some questions about heath issues and aging (I'm in my early 40s), my physician mocked me and made light of my questions in front of medical students in the room, and did not fully answer me. This along with other issues, including physicians making alarming recommendations without being familiar with my medical history, make me feel like this is no longer a place I'm comfortable entrusting with my medical care.

I would not recommend. I asked the receptionist for an appointment with doctor for primary care but instead they assigned me resident plus they charged me insane under the name of the doctor that didn’t even attend me. I wasn’t at all satisfied and my questions weren’t answered properly.

This was my first visit to Bryn Mawr Family Practice. My experience was amazing from the time so arrived to the time I left. The office is very modern and clean and the staff is attentive and kind. After seeing Dr. Sufyan Ahmad, I felt a lot better about switching to a new family practice. Dr. Ahmad explained everything very clearly and took his time to make sure I felt comfortable and that I was taken care of. I highly recommend this practice and can’t wait for my next appointment!!

TLDR; billing issues, prescription issues, lack of communication and organization. After expressing concerns with my care and waiting fruitlessly for a call from the clinic director's assistant -- and then subsequently being told that the only way to contact the director (Eric Mankin) is through written mail -- I have decided to post my letter publicly here:Dear Eric Mankin,I am writing to you to express concern about the care I have received at Main Line Family Practice in Bryn Mawr. I’m not the kind of person who usually does this sort of thing, but I feel that my experiences warrant attention from clinic management. I hope you will indulge a summary of my story.I am a young person managing multiple chronic conditions, and Main Line was recommended to me for its LGBT competency. Imagine my surprise, then, when I had to inform my practitioner that testosterone could not be taken orally. I don’t mind working to educate my clinicians, but not only was the frequency of her subsequent prescription inexplicably wrong — once every other week instead of every week — but I received a formulation without an anti-microbial preservative, making my medication unsafe for multiple uses. If my girlfriend (licensed nurse) hadn’t spotted this change, I might have run the risk of infection for months before someone noticed. Most importantly, I have been forced to withdraw from two separate medications while waiting for the clinic to manage my pre-authorizations. Withdrawing from the first med was not ideal, but thankfully, when things got dire, I had $20 to spare for a couple out-of-pocket doses. It is the issues surrounding the second medication that ultimately prompted the creation of this message. My prescribed stimulant that is both exorbitantly expensive at-cost and extremely dangerous to stop suddenly. Though I prepared for a refill well in advance, the clinic submitted the preauthorization incorrectly four times. I am currently waiting for the fifth iteration to be reviewed. As of today, I have suffered from more than a week of “cold-turkey” side effects.Three separate third parties (the pharmacy, my former clinic, and my insurance company) have all expressed frustration to me about how difficult it is to contact your clinic. Apparently, they kept being sent to a voicemail box that cut off recording after about ten seconds. I have had similar experiences. When I *do* get through, many of the office staff seem friendly but new and disoriented. This is evident in in-person interactions, too. Once I was told to collect a urine specimen in the clinic bathroom. After completing collection, nobody was nearby. I wandered around until I found someone. When they asked me if I had labeled my specimen and placed it in the receptacle, I informed them that my bathroom had no receptacle or writing implement. Though clearly confused, they lent me a Sharpie, and I finally completed the process. On my way out, I was intercepted and told that I should have gone across the street to the lab for collection. As if I could have known!Navigating these issues — including a bill for more than $800 due to improperly filed insurance claims — has consumed my life for the past two weeks. As I wrap up my story, I want to start by extending compassion to you and Main Line. I understand that healthcare workers are placed under many systemic constraints. Considered individually, some of my negative experiences would be forgivable. But the sheer frequency and diversity of problems that I have suffered at your clinic is blatantly negligent.I plan to transfer my care outside of your organization as soon as possible, but I implore you to explore these issues as a way to protect future patients. I, for one, would love to report back to my community that even though my experience here was extremely negative, my concerns were treated with weight and respect.Sincerely,Raye Watson

Amazing office, great staff, very efficient. Doctors are very friendly and teach very well to their residents and students. The front desk staff and medical assistants are also great to work with! Highly recommend going to Bryn Mawr Family Practice!

Doctors are reckless, irresponsible, and have no compassion. They will judge you leaving you feeling uncomfortable and embarrassed. You cannot trust the doctors here with your truth.

Don’t go here if you’re lgbtq. If I could give less stars I would. My medical history was completely ignored and disregarded. After being seen for less than 1 hour I was diagnosed with an anxiety disorder that I don’t have and told “if I wanted to discuss “my anxiety disorder” we could talk about medications, but if not I would be receiving no additional treatment for my (DIAGNOSED!) ADHD”In addition i was told my expectations for a doctor/medical provider were “too unrealistically high” because I expected medications to be filled on time and for medical questions/concerns to be discussed in a timely mannerLastly, I was pressured to change my name and pronouns (despite the fact that I don’t want to and don’t have any feelings regarding my name and pronouns) and then was told how I FEEL about them. When an argument began and I became increasingly agitated and upset they so kindly “agreed to disagree” about MY FEELINGS!Dane Menkin, you do not have the right to tell me how I feel and if I don’t fit into the narrative that you have decided for me you cannot force it upon me!
