I don't do this a lot but when I feel I can share my experience and potentially help someone I believe I should. I'm a returning customer to the shop for more than 10 years but the last visit left me speechless. I was charged $290 for a service that averages $130 for a set or 30/35 dollars per tire. This is based on my own personal research. I stopped in 3 local shops within a 3 mile radius to check the price for this service and everyone was pretty surprised and disappointed with what I got charged. For years, I have taken all 3 of my vehicles to this shop and really have nothing bad to say about the owner as I have always been satisfied with my experience. However I learned and am recommending that you ask for an estimated price before you have a service done as I honestly feel ripped off! Time to move on and take my business elsewhere.

I had scheduled my car for inspection and wiper blades. The car is Exempt for Emissions as it is under 5k miles. This was discussed while making the appointment. I dropped the car off the night before. I called today to ask for an update and was told it would be ready by 1230. I picked up the car and was given a bill for Inspection and Emissions with wiper blades. I was charged $44.00 for the Emissions test. I asked why I was charged for the Emissions and the owner, Mike Shavney, stated "I had to hook it up...just because it is exempt doesn't mean I still don't have to hook it up!" I asked what exempt means? He stated "Less than 5k...but it still has to be hooked up...you can ask anyone!" I had limited time. I paid the bill and left for an appointment. I went back to the shop after the appt to discuss the bill as I had also contacted several other garages to ask if the car needs to be "Hooked up" if it is Exempt? The response from every other garage / business was an overwhelming "NO" I spoke with Mike again, told him I contacted other places like he suggested and the response was - no one "hooks it up" if there is an Exemption... after all...this is what exemption means. Mike insisted that he had to hook it up to the state, there was communication... I asked Mike for the Emissions report from the state as there would be a report / response indicating the communication. Mike did not have one. Mike instead showed me someone else's bill with an Emissions report on it. This is BAD BUSINESS. Mike has not been honest about anything. Mike refused to give my money back. Mike finally admitted that he lied..."Yes, I lied... I don't know what to tell you... I lied...I didn't do anything... but it doesn't make a difference because I would charge you the same price anyway..." I think everyone should know about Mike's poor business ethics especially females and the elderly. This is what he prays upon. Dubbed Shiesty Shavney's. Lynne Regan.

These guys are great! I brought my 1988 Trans Am to them a couple months back, and everything went smooth. It's hard to find an honest mechanic. These guys are as honest as it gets. I highly recommend them.

Mike and Jim are truly amazing. They have always been able to get me in right away with any needs. Quality work, reasonable prices and extremely honest. It is quite refreshing to be able to drop my car off and know that any repairs are exactly what the car needs. Never a question of an upsell. I showed up from out of the area with a flat, which happened on the nearby blue route. Mike couldn't have been nicer. They fixed my flat and I was on my way in no time. They would be my go to if I lived in the area.
