Like other reviewers they will not let you cancel. Keep billing after moths of telling them to close and cancel. Horrible service, try to the advantage of the elderly.

Do not use this company if you want good customer service!!!! I ordered and paid for the Medical Alert devices for my 87yo mother in 2021. She refused to use them so they were returned. It took forever to confirm with Connect America that the devices were received. Thank goodness for UPS tracking. After all that, someone in their office called my elderly mother and convinced her she needed the devices. He sent her a 2nd set without my knowledge. Now I'm getting bills from them for something I did not order. I refuse to pay for something I did not order. The salesman took advantage of my mother who has had 2 strokes. This is elder financial abuse. I have been getting almost daily calls since 2021. And mail too. Avoid Connect America at all costs!!!!!!!!

This review if for Connect America West. Do not. Repeat for not use this service. You will regret it. They do not respond back and will not let you cancel. If you are on auto pay from your bank or credit card company they will continue to charge even if you try to cancel and they will never respond to your phone calls or emails. If you must use the service do not under any circumstances set up an auto pay. Do it as a paper billing so you can just stop paying the bill.

Avoid using this company based on their communication with my family. Our Mother had this service. There was never an easy way to perform tests to make sure the system was working without long delays reaching the company. They promote no long term contracts but try to make you pay for a year. However, if you pay yearly and need to discontinue service, they advise you will not be refunded for the remainder of the year. If you insist on paying month to month, you are charged an additional $5.00 per month. If you ever want to cancel service, you must call and you are put into an eternity of waiting to get through. Call holds of over 30 minutes are frequent. Finally, if you are successful in reaching someone to cancel, be sure you return equipment through some method that requires a signature on their end. We made the mistake of returning equipment with our last payment to them. They cashed the check but claimed the equipment was not returned. Have a lot of patience if selecting this company...they were a nightmare to deal with.

We had this service for about 3 years and thankfully never needed to make an emergency call. Found that the cell system they used in Canada had a lot of places that they could not detect locations. BUT the biggest problem I had was to cancel the service after my wife was moved to a care center. I was reminded to cancel the service when a charge for another full year was applied to my credit card - not on my anniversary date. I immediately called them and was told to return the equipment and they would issue me a full refund. I did return the items and about 18 days later and a number of phone calls they confirmed they had the goods back and my credit would be issued. A few phone calls and another 30 days and I was told their credits take up to 30 days. Many more calls and they said my case had been moved to their expediting department. Total of about 65 days after being billed in error and lots of phone calls and time on hold, my card was finally credited. Not sure about the quality of the service but would never use them again due to their credit, billing and return policies.

My mother in law has had this service for over 12 years. We have had no problems when she has fallen. Likewise, she has moved two times and she has had no issues with billing or the change of addresses. Based on our experience, I would give them 5 stars. We will see when we have to return the equipment. However, I was looking for a medical alert for my mom who lives alone in independent living community. ( A completely different living arrangement than my Mother in Law). I have looked into other medical alert companies and seen similar bad reviews. It is irritating that this industry has such a poor reputation for serving their customers. Despite my positive experience, I do not see this company as being a fit for my mom, especially since her place is about 1800 sq ft.

just so you get it right, this is who this review is for: And by the looks of all the reviews here, we're all talking about the SAME corporation. (MEDICAL ALERT) These scam artists have ripped my 89 year old mother off for well over $3,000.00. They didn't send my mother a thing, got her credit card number via: a phone call, and continue charging her (going on 4 years) for NOTHING! I've call them and they have given me a huge run around, talking to one person, then another, then another, one said send the device back I've told them she doesn't have their device. We've had to change her credit card number twice. That was two years ago and they still are sending her bills. She has terminal cancer. I'm going to have to report this scam corrupt corporation for SENIOR ABUSE! I'm done playing games with this greedy CORPORATION!

I'd avoid this company if possible. If not be sure to keep track of EVERYTHING. When I called after my parent died and we no longer needed the device, they tried to make me pay up right away without allowing me to see a final bill. I said no thanks. They said send the unit and pendant back, which I did, with a tracking number so I could see it arrived ok. After the funeral I called to close out the account. For 10 minutes the woman insisted she couldn't find the returned unit, and blamed me for not having sent them the tracking number. I said I had seen the bad reviews, and it sounded like something for the Better Business Bureau. She said they are covered for that... but then miraculously after that she found the returned equipment and said she would zero out the remaining balance and close the account and I should have a blessed day. We'll see... But buyer beware.
