If you actually care about recycling and it being done properly, don't go here. They, on a regular and unchecked basis, release CFCs into the environment. Which means if you're trying to get rid of your fridge/freezer/ac unit responsibly, this company doesn't care and will just smash it and let the freon out. Also, lots of fake 5 star reviews on here. Michael Richardson is the yard manager, plus other fake names that have never been to the facility. Photo is a big freon cloud from a rooftop ac unit. Please choose a facility that is more environmentally friendly.

I was very happy to find a scrap yard in the area that doesn't mind dealing with the homeowner. I had replaced my Bilco door and dropped off the old one at Sims. It took some time, but everyone was as courteous and professional as one could expect in a heavy industrial environment. I wasn't expecting anything for plain carbon steel, but came out with enough to buy lunch.

Great place to take your scrap. The staff is friendly and knowledgeable. Mike inside the garage is very professional and will answer any questions you might have about material. The girl inside is always very nice and the whole place is well kept.

Out of the 3 local to me centers, I would say Sims is the best. The staff is always there to help you, and even tho metal prices are at an all-time low, Sims pays best. I recommend them to the fullest.Cheers to their crew.Scooter McGavin

They do not accept Martensitic or ferritic stainless steel. Nor do they even know what that means. Had to settle for light steel price on a lot of magnetic stainless steel. Got ripped off. However, its always clean and not worried about popping tires in the yard.
